| We've come a long way baby! On August 26, 1920, the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution became law, giving women the right to vote. Eighty eight years ago today! Cool, huh? If you aren't a registered voter now is a perfect time to go for it. Exercise that girl power! Rock the Vote

| I never took an interest in politics so I never voted. I wil be 32 in Nov and will vote in my first presidential election! I voted in the primaries this past year also. It feels good to lend my voice. Thanks for this post! I think its important for women to exercise their rights that were fought so hard for!

| I used this as a trivia question in my class yesterday morning! I had 32 sophomore engineering students (all men) and not 1 of them had any idea that women could never vote Needless to say they got their women's history lesson from me! I told them they could go tell their girlfriends and use it to their advantage by sounding smart |

Um, did they know that African Americans used to be forced to use separate bathrooms etcetera? Um, just wow. And, wow.

OMG that is unbelievable! I understand not knowing the date- even the year, but to not know that women didn't have the right to vote? It wasn't even that long ago how is that possible. I know Americans are typically not that great with American history but that is really sad.

I'm also doing a seminar on Feminist leadership theory and have urged them to attend. Ok by urged I mean extra credit but I'm ok with bribing them~ | |

ETA: I guess Hillary spoke that night. I still don't think it was empathized as much I would have expected though.
