I am starting school on Monday in the pre nursing program (the nursing program has a wait list), and I am EXTREMELY nervous, but really excited to start working on my future So thank you everyone who offered encouragement and sent pm's chatting with me about this, I appreciate it so much! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I am SO excited for you and hope you keep us updated on your progress! I have my BSN RN - I'm not in nursing now, but as they say "once a nurse, always a nurse".

| I'm a medical assistant. If I had it to do over again, I'd go the RN route. Good Luck to you, you're making a great choice!!!

| Does anyone have any experience with waiting lists for nursing programs? I am a bit confused because they have no genuine answers on when spots will be available for the program. There is a waiting list of 150-200 people and I was told they give preference to those with their pre requirements fulfilled and GPA but apparently that doesn't even get you in all the time. I am taking 4 classes since I had many credits that transferred and then next semester I will only be taking 2, then I am done with my "pre nursing" and will have to either be admitted for fall '09 in nursing or wait until I am admitted. Only 10% of nursing students are accepted straight out of high school and the other 90% I would imagine are the ones in pre nursing or transfers with nursing credits. Have any of you that are nurses experienced this kind of waiting list issue while in school? I am just concerned for some reason I won't get into nursing and will have a really worthless year under my belt. Last edited by yorkiegirl83; 08-21-2008 at 09:36 AM. |
