| Maybe a trip to Vancouver?! LOL! Maybe a travel themed party! With different areas decorated to represent different destinations. For example, your den could be Vancouver, your dining room could be Korea, your backyard could be Maui. Then you could serve different courses for dinner or have appetizers from around the world... Another abstract idea but a friend of mine just got her husband a guitar for his birthday and he LOVES it. He had never thought about getting a real one (he loves Guitar Hero). She said that now maybe he could learn to play some real music! Go abstract on the gift and it may be something that he didn't even know he wanted or needed.

| For my 30th bday party last year, my friends and hubby through me a Casino themed party. It was really fun. There were 3 tables, 21, Roulette, and craps. It was nice because the guests were entertained. We had each guest put in $10 dollars to play for the night and at the end we divided the cash and gave it out as prizes to the 3 top winners. |

U know what? I did think about a trip to Vancouver! LOL! His family lives there...but with my work schedule..I doubt we can travel that far? That is a good idea about a travel theme party. But I am seriously not that creative..so, it will be a hard task for me to do........... | |

| How about a scavenger hunt?? The last prize is You! I have done this before. First started with a honey, can you stop and pick up such and such from one of my friends. Once there she handed him a note, telling him where to go next. A bookstore to buy a sweet book of poetry, then a note sending him off to Victoria Secrets to choose between 2 night wear items I had picked out, a stop at a wine store, etc., etc. - you have to find stores that will work with you. I left keys in an envelope to a hotel room at the next to last spot. Because the last stop is where...... he can find you, with music, rose petals, etc. -- he will be so excited by the time he gets there!!

If you use local owned stores you might have more luck. Those people love building business. But I actually used Victoria Secrets - the girls were so into it - there, I actually picked out 2 outfits, that were the same price and prepaid for one, so he just had to choose = And for the book, I used Barnes and Noble - I had the book put on hold, with the note inside and prepaid. You can get really creative. I did cookies too - because he had a sweet tooth. You can make it fun - have him get the music etc.
