| Signs of Conjunctivitis?? Hey all, I am dying here... my right eye is swollen on the bottom lid, pink and very painful. The top lid is starting to swell now. The pain started last night and now my left eye is starting to feel like my right eye did last night. Painful and has a tight feeling but not swollen yet. Does this sound like conjunctivitis? Im at work and do not want to pass this to anyone else, so I want to go to the docs for meds as soon as possible if that is what it sounds like.

| Are you having any discharge? Specifically sticky and yellow? Is it just in one eye, or both? Do you wear contacts normally? Sounds like it could very well be...if it's only one eye then it is probably not an allergic reaction to something. |

| I actually think it might be a sty... gggeezzz... i didnt even know what that was. I googled conjunctivitis but it didn't sound like what my eye looks and feels like, so I googled something about pain in lower eyelid and I found that I probably have a sty. There is no discharge or anything... just swollen and pink on my bottom eyelid and painful to blink my eye. This has not been a fun day! At least work is almost over! woohoo

| Does it feel like you have anything in your eye or does the light hurt your eye? I used to get pink eye and also ulcers in my eye all the time back when I used to wear contacts at night.

I do and the result is a problem with the oil glands in my eyelids. They don't drain properly. Have you ever noticed clear...ummm....looks like a tiny blister on the flat part of your eyelid that rests right next to your eye? If you have, this is (maybe) the problem. I have to put in antibiotic eyedrops when this happens. It is Zymar. This always takes care of it. It happens frequently enough that my opthamaligist (sp?) just calls in the prescription for me when I run out without requiring an office visit. This is much different than a stye. Hope you get it resolved quickly. It is distressing. | |

| I don't have dry eye, but that is good to know! Thanks! that must be painful and annoying for you huh? I decided to stay home from work today. Ive put warm compresses on my eyelid and Im going makeupless (which is a huge feat for me) I figured since Im not sick sick I'll get a few things done also, like an oil change and speaking to a school advisor to get my classes for sept all set. It will feel good to get that stuff out of the way and to take care of my eye without having to worry about work today! Thanks for your concern all!
