| You are going to be GREAT!!! Congratulations on your decision to go back. I'm not sure how long it's been since you were in school, but if it's any consolation my mom went through a pretty nasty divorce, and when things had settled down she decided it was time to start taking care of herself for a change ... starting by going to college for the first time at the age of 53. She was really focused and had a really good idea of exactly where she wanted her degree to take her, (which she might not have had when she was younger) and graduated with almost a 4.0. I can sympathize with you as well ... I've been out of school for a few years (and also feel OLD!) and in 2 weeks am moving to PA to start a PhD. I am terrified. Scared that I won't be smart enough, disciplined enough, etc. But I refuse to let those feelings control me. Let's just give it our best shot and see where we end up! I wish you the best of luck ... if you ever need anyone to commiserate with, you can count on me. |

| You drink like a college student so what's the problem? Kidding, kidding... We all know you don't drink.. You'll be fine. Will you be taking night classes? In my experience, there has always been a few "older" (that sounds like such a dumb description but I mean anyone over the age of say, 25) students.

OMG THANK YOU ....that is SOOOOOOO What I needed. You have no idea....that really makes me feel I am not alone and that I can do it. I am so excited but so scared and nervous at the same time. It has been about 10 years since I have been in school and I just turned 30 this year so I guess if anytime is the time ... it is now! Let the fun and the journey begin .... I guess - ha, ha!! Best of luck to you as well.

| We have a local Christian college in our town, and I am friends with a few of the professors. They consider it common knowledge that older students are much more focused than the teenagers and early 20's. You are past the partying and KNOW the direction you are headed. You WILL do great!!! Great decision. Joanne

| Hey Caren, I can understand you being nervous but I'm sure your going to be just fine. After high school I went straight to college and got my B.A. and then I took a year off and went back for my M.A. Now I'm debating on this license thing I've been working on. I think I need a break, lol! I've had so many mixed thoughts about my field and I almost feel like going back for something completely differen't. We're about the same age (I just turned 27) and I wondered what it would be like going back to work on another degree. All of the students are usually so young. However, I thought back to that time and I remember having a few older students. Many were much older than 30 and I just loved them. One older girl actually became a very good friend of mine. She's actually coming to visit me soon. I think you're going to fit right in. It might take you a little longer to get used to the classroom type stuff but I'm sure after a few weeks it will be no big deal. Good Luck with everything!! You're going to be fine.

| You will be fine, you know what you want now. You have a goal and you want it. Its alot of difference then going when you get out of school. When I went to college there were always people that were like in a cycle that they wanted to go to college after all the kids were gone from home and they had nothing else to do. They were doing something for themselves. I think everyone looks at them and are always excited that they are doing something they have always wanted. Never be nervous when you are upgrading yourself. In a few months you will forget about how you felt it will be old news then. Have fun!!!!!

Wish you all the best. You can so do this Caren! You already have a plan and that's the hardest part. It seems like in our area it is more common for adults to take college classes- maybe since we're not a college town, I have had two other friends go back to school at UCF. You are going to be so proud of yourself! .

| I don't know how old you are, but I am almost 32 and going back to college! You can do it and you'll be soooo happy you did!

| You will be fine. I'm 31 and in college still yet (my 6th year have 2 more to go) and I love it! There are all ages at the college and I've made many friends of all ages there. Congrats on going back.. it is hard to get motivated to do homework though... I make my mom ground me if it is not finished when needs to be. ha ha
