| Any Creative Ideas For An Old Wedding Dress? I was wondering if anyone has any creative ideas about what I can do with my wedding dress? It is only a year old and I don't want to sell it to someone or have it preserved. I want to display it or parts of it somehow but not sure what to do. I had a friend suggest making a blanket out of it but I am not sure how to do it. Any ideas?

Therapy Dog Donating Member | I can't wait to see the answers to this thread...I have mine too in storage and want to do something. I did find someone that would make a wedding quilt out of it but she charged a fortune and not worth it to me. But that's the only thing I can think of to make out of it.

| I had someone make me a beautiful doll wedding dress.. Just like mine. She was awesome. I had an old doll that I had when I was little.. 45 years old and it was almost life size. I didn't want to preserve mine either an have no daughter to pass it on. I will have to take pictures of it and show you.. It is beautiful..

| Over here in the UK it is tradition to have your wedding dress made into a christening gown for your baby, they also save one of the tiers of the wedding cake for the christening too. I personally would have the dress made into either a gown for a baby or I would have a beautiful blanket made for a baby with all the lovely material and the lace.

| I don't know if you have any children but.. I would keep it in storage until you have children. You could always make a dress to bring the baby home in plus make a blanket for a baby. If you have a girl you could always make some kind of a keepsake that they might be able to use for their own wedding.

| I love the blanket idea! You could also have pictures put into the blanket of your wedding day. If you have any leftover fabric, you could cover a scrapbook/photobook of your wedding pictures.

| The doll is beautiful. My stepmom makes dolls maybe I could see if she could do something like that for me. I never really thought about that. I also really love the idea of making a christening gown out of it too.
