| I saw that. The poor thing. It must have some sort of problem to have gained that much weight. Hopefully, it'll be taken care of.

| What a pretty kitty! I once had a cat Smokey that was 32lbs! We found out that she was definitely interbreed and had all sorts of strange issues! When I sadly had to her PTS they charged me as much as they would for a med. size dog!

| i saw this too.. i think the world record for heaviest cat was like 46 lbs.. yeah there has to be a medical issue going on.. no way it could get this huge... i dont understand why someone would feed it so much though when they knew how big it was getting... hope they didnt do this on purpose or something! |

| i saw this on Regis & Kelly.. oh man.. that is one big kitty! (i've never been a cat person.. but i KNOW that is NOT the average size cat! ) THEY COULDN'T EVEN TELL IF IT WAS MALE OR FEMALE.. THEY HAD TO HAVE A VET REALLY CHECK IT OUT(if you know what i mean) & they even said the cat ate like a 'normal' sized cat.. no signs of still being hungry/over eating? it must have a thyroid-type problem.. or something like that!?!

| LOL yeah they found her not too far from us. This was about 2 weeks ago.. Princess Chunk is really Captain Chunk. They found out she was really a he after a vet examined him at the Regis and Kelly show. They finally found out who was the owner. The owners home was foreclosed and they had to move and left the cat behind. |

I totally agree with you. She should be charged for leaving him behind and for letting his weight get out of control. There are loads of ppl that applied to adopt him so hopefully they'll take care of him and not think its cute for him to be so big. It worries me because he's been in the media alot so they really need to watch where they place him and make sure they get updates on his weight. | |

| Update On Chunk Here's the latest on PRINCE Chunk - turns out he is just fat - no thyroid problem. Hope they keep him on a good diet 44-Pound Cat Gets a New Home BLACKWOOD, N.J. (Aug. 8) - Fat, happy and no longer homeless. That describes life for the 44-pound New Jersey cat who became an overnight sensation. A New Jersey family has adopted the state's most famous feline, a 44-pound beauty who gained glory after being found waddling the streets last month. "Powder" -- aka "Prince Chunk" -- became homeless when his owner lost her home to foreclosure. A vet has found "Prince Chunk" healthy aside from his weight. The big cat doesn't have a thyroid condition, after all. The vet also has prescribed a high-protein, low-carb diet for the tubby tabby, who is within three pounds of the heaviest on record. Some 400 people applied to adopt the 10-year-old cat who once was called "Powder." He was found lumbering around Voorhees after his owner lost her home to foreclosure. New York's Daily News reports the Camden County Animal Shelter has selected a south Jersey family who already has two cats. "Prince Chunk" is to move next week.
