Hi everyone!

My dad informed me today.. that a friend of his that he had become very close to over the last year, passed away yesterday!!

Her name is Heather.. she and my dad had been dating.. she traveled alot for her job in the movie industry, which is one of the main reasons why they weren't in a relationship, at the moment! They talked everyday.. and i could tell my dad cared about her so much! My parents have been divorced for many years.. (neither of them have remarried) but my dad is the type to only bring around people he thinks very highly of.. (there has probably been 2 people in the past 12 years he has brought to me and my brother's attention) and SHE was one of them!!

I had not met her yet.. but had spoke with her on the phone! She seriously was the sweetest person-you could just tell from the start the type of person she was.. very very sincere, happy, truly amazing! (& like i said.. if my dad wanted her included in our lives.. you know he really thought so highly of her!

Something about him telling me she had passed away just hit me.. and really made me so sad! (like i said i never got the privelege of meeting her face to face) but the first thing that came to my mind, when he told me was.. this just seems to have happened for such a significant reason. (i am one that believes that everything in life happens for a reason.. but this situation and why she was put in my dads life.. seems so clear to me that it was for a reason!)

It breaks my heart to see my dad so upset.. and i know he is truly so saddened and heartbroken! I can't help but cry when i think of the situation.. she was such a great person and she had such a happy and postive effect on the people that were in her life!

(to give you a summed up reason of how she died: she had cancer(a while ago..) but she was fine now and had been cleared of that for a good amout of time! she recently went to the doctors and they had found a tumor.. it wasn't cancerous, but they wanted to remove it ASAP because it was pretty large and i guess they didnt want it to bring back any of her cancer. she had a trip planned to go colorado(she had a house there)and the doctors gave her the ok.. and when she got back they would remove the tumor! well, earlier this week my dad had spoke with her and she didnt feel too hot.. the next early early morning she called and told him she was going to the ER cuz she felt worse.. the following morning and throughout the day she spoke with my dad again, and told him she was at the hospital they were checking her out, she was resting, etc. Later she spoke with him and told him they found out her tumor had ruptured and they were taking her into emergency surgery!! ..which she never made it out of!!

please (if you pray) keep my dad and her family/friends in your thoughts and prayers!! i know he is very hurt and can use the prayers!

(PS. another heartbreak.. she was SO young.. her brithday is on the 31st!!

I'm so sorry to hear of even more heartache here... Heather's loved ones must be absolutely devastated...

Please know that we will hold your family - and Heather's - in our prayers that you all might find some peace amidst this terrible sadness.

I am so so sorry. I understand that it hit you hard. and I can't imagine how hard it must be to know your Dad is so sad right now.

It is heartbreaking that your father lost someone so special to him. I hope he has plenty of fond memories to comfort him. He is very lucky to have you, his daughter, to also comfort him in this difficult time. I will pray for all those that have been affected by the loss of Heather.
