| I am very interested in starting my own line of doggy couture. lately i have picked up the desire to sew. Basically, anything and everything. i have made my Sophie many dresses. Of course, this was in the beginning of my learning process (i will include photos.) and i do feel that i am getting better with every dress that i produce. as far as my line will go, i will offer stylish dresses for a low cost. basically, my main concern is, how hard is it exactly to produce and sell a line of clothing? i see others do it, and i have this dream of doing it also. I should say that i am only 20; however my mom is behind me 100%. she encourages me with "You can do that!" and other things that make me feel that this dream is possible to reach. my mother sews quite well herself, which she learned from her mother, my grandmother (who sadly passed when i was in 3rd grade.) but i know that she would be proud to see me continue in her footsteps. i love pulling out my notepad and sketching up different designs. i do believe being a young woman would help me design, because i know what people are interested in. so my main concern and reason for wasting your time is, am i getting in too deep??

| Its a good experience and a way to learn the life in business. You have to put your heart in it and have fun in anything you do. Give it a try and see what happens. I'm working on my website and got started doing this because I love the yorkies and doing things for them. You younger ones know all the ins and outs of computers and new styles and pick up things fast. Give it a shot.

| You can do it! Don't let anything hold you back! I started sewing 26 years ago, by making my own maternity clothes as I am only 5 feet tall and it was hard for me to find things to fit me right. For the past 6 years I have made costumes and Tutus for a professional ballet company, many times only having a drawing by the choreographer to go by. It wasn't until just recently that I got the nerve to start my own business, design my own product! But I have to tell you, put pride in everything you make, and the rewards will be there! I love to make people smile and when I design an outfit for someones pet, wether it be a dog, cat or pot belly pig!!! When the customer loves what you have made, it only drives you that much more... Good luck with your endeavors! Kim |

| With your "can do it" attitude - you're sure to be successful. Keep in mind that you definitely won't get rich quick as the costs are more than you imagine, especially when you're forever buying thread and notions. If you keep your fabric selections simple so you don't have a ton of stock you can keep your costs lower as well. Good luck and can't wait to see what you'll come up with!!!!

| i really enjoy the feedback! i must say, i was nervous and didn't know what kind of response i would get. i almost didn't post because i was afraid of your opinions but as far as costs go, i understand it will be tough having to pay for all that, as of right now i am a firm believe in the remnant basket i also have started using cute bandanas from wal mart, that sell for about $1, in very bright colors and cute patterns. It's just the right amount of fabric. so i know ways to save money, and i don't intend on getting rich" but i do think its exciting to design and see others wearing things that i created. i can't wait to get started! and it's so great to have all of YT behind me!
