| See through shirts? Has anyone else noticed the quality of the clothing in the stores lately?.....I wanted a shirt, nothing fancy , just something simple for everyday to wear with jeans....I went to T.J.Maxx...Target....and Old Navy....all the shirts I tried on I could see right through!...I could clearly see my bra and it was so sheer I could even see my belly button!!......What the heck!!....They looked like they where made from tissue paper!....I took 12 shirts in the dressing room at T.J. Maxx and found nothing suitable so I ended up buying a floor lamp instead! ........or is it just me?

my advise - buy REALLY pretty bras maybe ??? nothing is made like it used to be unless you want to spend a ton of cash....I used to like TJ Maxx - have you tried Ross Dress for Less ?? They have some ok shirts and they don't cost you a weeks paycheck....I went to Macy's for shirts not too long ago and went into shellshock and didn't buy a thing - everything is over priced and not nearly as well made as it used to be

| hmmm....I must be nearing pms Good luck with the quality thing...unless you want to show skin or your butt crack...your out of luck. Its a shame what the clothing industry has come to. I see these little girls dressing in short shorts, showing their bellies, wearing hills..I think it is ridiculous! Its no wonder why our 10, 11, 12 year olds think that certain types of sex isn't considered sex. Parents get offended but I say, sorry...sex sells and to prove it look at your daughter. I don't think most people think about it when they are buying these outfits because its whats out there and everyone else is buying it too..but think back even twenty years ago...you wouldn't be caught dead wearing the things that our elementary kids are now wearing. Now, just like teen pregnancy...it is excepted socially throughout our society...there is no shame in it anymore. I could just keep going....guess I should just say...I am thankful to have boys!

| Quality is surely not the same.. I also agree everything is see through and it SHRINKS after one wash.. even if you dont dry it in the dryer... the jeans also tear and fade alot quicker than before.... |

| I know, I have a hard time too. I have to wear tanks or camios under a lot of my stuff. Clothing industry for stores like TJ Maxx, Target, Old Navy etc or more geared towards the teens. In order for me to find something more "mature", I've had to start shopping at more spendy type stores. But I'm finding the quality is better and lasts longer. If you do it right, you can get the stuff on mark down and not spend very much.

| Sometimes tops are made really thin because they are designed to be layered. Also like ericjam suggested, a cami might be the ticket. I have a Body by Victoria cami that is nude and doesn't require a bra. I can wear it under anything and it just disappears. Then when looking for an inexpensive option for my daughter I found that Walmart has the very exact knockoff of the Victoria's Secret cami. I was surprised that the quality was pretty decent too. I do know what you mean though. I wear a lot of white tees and I don't want to layer and I don't want to need a cami and it is getting harder and harder to find non sheer white tees. I used to be able to just pick them up without trying them on but now I have to be more careful. I don't know if you are even looking for tees but I really like J Crew perfect fit.

| I was in Macys the other day and it usually has nice things but what I saw was made so poorly. I think because of the economy they are bringing cheaper lines in so they can charge less. I ended up getting a name brand shirt for my son's birthday (on sale) I better tell him he's lucky

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I've noticed that most shirts now are meant to have a cami or tank top under them. I've gotten so used to it that I've started wearing camis under regular t-shirts even lol. But I know what you mean. It drives me insane. My church has a certain modesty standard and it's impossible to buy cute modest clothes!

| I think its a new trend this year. I have noticed that all the tshirts I buy are VERY sheer and lightweight and tagless (LOVE that!!) so I buy tanktops to go under them in all different colors. It makes work clothes picking out in the mornings easier.. I just grab a tee & a tank ... all solids so they all match.. just grab & go!
