| Update on hubby My husband was diagnosed with chronic leukemia a couple of months ago. He had to have blood work done every week to keep an eye on his white count. Before he started his new medication, his white count got up to 46,000. Normal is 5000 to 6000. Since he has been on Gleevec (oral chemo) his white count has come down to 6000. He still is a little tired, but is doing better. On this medicine, he can live a long time without the cancer even progressing. They will do another bone marrow in a month or two. Please keep praying. Also, my sil's mom has cancer. She's had it for awhile but now it is aggressive. She also has 5 broken ribs that the doctor did when they done her lung biopsy (1 yr. ago). They didn't tell her and it didn't start bohering her until the tumor started growing in her chest cavity. She is going to try a chemo. If she sees that it is not working, she is going to stop taking it. Please keep her in your prayers also. She is going through a rough time as is my son-in-law.

| Will do, sweetie. Glad things are looking up for your dh. Prayers for your sil. Seems like everywhere we turn someone has been diagnosed with cancer. A scary disease. Hugs to you and your extended family. Joanne

| Prayer and positive thoughts to you and yours. I hope that they can all keep the faith and stay positive. I do believe that our minds can mend a lot of what ails our bodies. I do believe in miracles.

| I will keep your dear hubby in my thoughts and prayers - that the meds continue to work for him and that his lukemia goes into full remission. I will also keep your sil's mom in my prayers. It sounds like your family is going through some rough times. Last edited by chattiesmom; 07-02-2008 at 04:16 AM. |
