| I'm About to Become a New Grandma I just received a call from my son inlaw and my daughter has just been admitted to the hospital in full blown labor.....Hopefully little Tucker will arrive by morning. Please keep my daughter and family in your prayers. Tucker will be born with both a hard and soft clef palate and also a clef lip. He will have to weigh at least 10 pounds before he can begin his surgeries and will probably be in the hospital for several weeks. Hospitalization time depends on how fast he can learn to nurse. If he can't nurse, he will be fed with a feeding tube. This little one will have a rough road to travel for quite awhile. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Hugs and prayers out to your entire family, and the newcoming little Tucker! I hope the delivery goes smoothly and he will be strong enough for the surgeries. Congratulations! PS - I was born with a hard cleft palate. Tucker of course has more problems than I did, but if it's any consolation I'm perfectly normal now (after speech classes and whatnot) Good luck with everything!!

| Update Little Tucker was born this morning at 3:44 a.m. weighing in at 6 lbs. 5 oz. and 18 inches long. Short little fellow. It appears that he is healthly other than the aforementioned clefts. He is nursing from a bottle and seems to be doing very well with it. He is in the NIC unit and we are hoping that he will be moved to the regular newborn nursery sometime today if he continues to improve. My daughter is doing well, but has other complications including gallstones, low potassium and extremely high blood pressure. Doctors may go ahead and do surgery while she is in the hospital. This has been an ongoing problem since pregnancy. Hubby and I would like to go to the hospital today, but the weather is so nasty and the road that we have to travel is dangerous even in dry weather and it is a 2.5 hour drive. May have to wait until tomorrow but Lisa is going to email some pictures if we don't get to go today. I will continue to update . Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

| Update Many thanks to everyone for the well wishes, thoughts and prayers. Little Tucker was moved out of the NIC into the regular newborn nursery and into the room with his mother. This made mom and dad very happy. Now they can really have some hands on! He is doing very well with bottle feeding from a special bottle for cleft babies. The doctors will tape his lip tomorrow to begin preparing for his first surgery. So far, doctors cannot find any other problems and have determined that he is very healthy. Hopefully he will go home in a few days. My daughter Lisa, is still very wired up. She hasn't slept in over 26 hours and has been so worried about the baby. Her blood pressure is still very high. I will continue to update. Thanks again for the well wishes and prayers.
