| Army Rant My husabnd just came home for R&R(yeah) and he informed me that I got him in trouble!!!! The Army tells the wives to try to do as much as possible without your husband and use Rear D and FRG to get what you cant do alone done. SOOO my husbands pay was wrong and I did as taught, call FRG. They gave me directions and names of who to see in Rear D. So I go and tell them what was wrong and ask what to do. They YELLED at me. TILL I CRIED!!!! And couldnt help me. So I go home and call FRG. The head of FRG calls her husband over there and informs him of the problem. Because of this my husband and his 13 unit mates were given their proper pay. That was a good thing. They told him to stop me from doing his financing, like he can do it during a war, and to LIE TO ME about his living conditions!!!! Hes living in squallor with only 2 meals a day(this is an inprovement), and no everyday luxuries. Like gym equipment, telephones, internet, toilets with water, showers, T.V.s. They just got electricity in their building for crying out loud. He told me how he was living and I asked the FRG leader and she opened her big mouth to her high ranking husband and he was pissed my husband told me the truth. I love my husband dearly and I hate this war but every time he goes over there I want to punch out the president! Or atleast an officer in his unit. This war is kiiling my love for my country. Dont get me wrong I want to be an American but I wish the Army was what we picture in our heads and our told by recruiters and TV. What its like now does not make me proud. Sorry about the length of this I just need to tell someone. |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Major hugs to you. I want to thank you and your husband for your sacrifices. I need to show this post to my brother - he wants to join the Army because he thinks it's all what the recruiters tell him. I'm so sorry you got yelled at and that they told your husband to LIE to you! what is THAT all about!? Mad props to your husband for telling you the truth like a good husband would do! Prayers out to your family!

| I completely agree with you. Its unfortunate that the majority of Americans do not know what goes on behind the heads. The things they don't tell you or lie about. Our military..especially enlisted are WAY underpaid! My husband was in the Air Force and while he was over in Bahrain I heard nothing from his commanding officers that we were told would check up on us to make sure everything was going ok...once they came home he came up to me like we talked on a daily basis. I applaud you for saying something! We know the repercusions of an active military person speaking up but if you and other family members stay quiet then how will any of these situations be corrected?

| I'm not American, but your story reminds me of something my grandpa told me when I was just 5 or 6 years old. He fought in WWII, but would never ever talk about it. One day he told my brother and I out of the blue "Don't EVER join the army no matter what they tell you it's like" and I remember thinking at the time "Who would want to join the army and shoot people?" but when I got to be 16 and 17 years old, recruiters were out in full force at high schools and career fairs and college campuses. They'd tell us it's just 2 weeks of service each summer and your whole tuition would be paid, you get to travel the world and get so many benefits and blah blah blah. But no matter what, my grandpa's voice always stuck in my head.

| Hon., I am a retired military wife.. I so hated that life.. the drill the bull sH*** that goes with it.. I was once told I was having surgery..he was booking it in front of me I asked what was the surgery for.. I was told by the military doctor that he did not like my attitude and said it stunk.. then my hubby was called in and told you wife will have the surgery.. omg.. I hated it so much.. and lived it for 27 years out of the 31 years he was in.. You as a wife are a dependant spouse and they care nothing at all about you..unless you are in the military or have family in.. people have no way of ever understanding.. and my grandson just joined.. if anything.. I hope you know that your not alone in this military life... anne |

| Honey I am so sorry you had to learn the hard way .... been there - done that ..... know what it feels like ..... I agree ..... the Army has changed over the years and most of the Wife's are the biggest Issue. I have never met so many FAKE and Backstabing &%$#@ in my life then in the Army .... that's why I don't have Friends in the Military. You can't say one thing without somebody running there mouth about it and trust me .... I got my Hubby in trouble a few times too cause I speak my mind and don't take crap anymore like I did in the early years ...... I love being an ARMY WIFE ..... don't get me wrong ..... I am very Proud of my Hubby (and all the other Soldiers) in what he has done in 16 years of Service and I am shure glad to see we get to have a normal life .....soon ..... It is amazing what Outsiders think they know ...... truth is there is so much more to the Story then everybody thinks there is ...... I hope you can enjoy your R&R Time and your next Unit will be easier on you and help you out when you have Issues ..... hang in there .... lots of hugs from me .....
