| rescued a dachshaund We were coming home tonight and when we were pulling into our complex there was this black and tan dachshuand( not sure how to spell out it) out on the main road. We stopped and he went running up in our courtyard. He was very scared and nervous so i got out of the car and tried to follow him. Michael parked his car and i went one way and he went another because he ran like crazy when he saw us trying to help him. I came up to my apt and got some treats while michael was still out looking for him. finally like 45 mins later we found him again! I was trying to offer him treats so he wouldnt be scared and he finally approached me! I sat on the ground and just let him sniff me and he then tried to sit in my lap! you could tell he was just frightened because he didnt know where he was. He was so sweet. I saw a few people and they just walked passed and then this lady came walking up with a child. I asked her if she recognized the dog and at first she said no and then she said she thought it was a lady that lived in the building across from her. Michael knocked on their door and they answered. He asked them if they were missing a dog and they said yes. They werent even trying to look for him like they didnt even care! They said they had given him a bath and he didnt like it and somehow got out of the house! The owner turned out to be the lady who used to be the manager of the complex who rented out apt to us and she didnt even get off the couch her kids came out to get the dog! Now if that was me i would have sent a swat team out looking for my little Pudge.. whats wrong with people! Guess i just dont understand people who dont have love for animals like i do! well sorry had to vent! Glad he is ok.. Oh and his name is Chipper! Hope too see him again

| how sad is that!!the poor baby was probably trying to get away from that situation. i just don't understand how people can own a dog and not love it like it's their own child

| Stories like that just make my blood boil. Some people just shouldn't have the right to own an animal. It was so sweet of you to do what you did. Hopefully the kids love the puppy at least. Sounds like they do. |

| Wow.. that just amazes me that people can treat their pet so nonchalantly. Makes me sick.

| If you get him again, just keep him! Those people make me sick! When Layla got away we searched for her and put it on the radio and in the paper. Someone heard about her on the radio and called in and we got her back!

| I agree I would have the SWAT team out looking for Macy. She escaped out of her harness one day and I stoped traffic just in case she came running that direction. She didn't but I can't imagen not sending out every last resource to find my dog!

| Good thing the owner doesn't treat the children the same way. If she doesn't want the dog, then give it to somebody that does.
