| I have had it with diet food! I rant! What is with all of these companies that make diet foods? Lean Cuisine, Smart Ones etc. Do they think that people on diets love hot spicy food and lots of pepper? Everything I buy has so much hot stuff in it I can't finish it. I love salt and garlic and that is about it! I'm going to start my own company. Frozen diet dinners for bland people who like bland food. My slogan will be "You know where the pepper shaker is so why should we put it on your food? |

| That's so funny. I haven't noticed that but my problem with the frozen dinners are bell peppers. There are tons of bell peppers in everything! That's all I can can taste half of the time. What about people like me who don't care for bell peppers?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | LOL you are SO right - I had a frozen WW Dinner last night that I've never tried and holy cow it was mamaMIA spicy ! I liked it but you're right - some can't tolerate it and ha on the green and red peppers - they're STAPLES for frozen dinners ...I think they put them in every single one of them...I'm surprised they don't add them to pancake breakfasts |

| I don't mind the spicy so much as all the darn tomatoes. Half of them aren't even ripe yet. They put them in everything along with the peppers..red and green.

| Oh now this I can explain! Most diet foods are low in sodium i.e. salt (because sodium causes water retention causes you to weigh more). Most Americans are used to eating food with lots of salt on it. I know I was. So they put the bell pepper and the spices in it because hot spices, bell pepper, or lemon will sometimes mimic the flavor of salt (or at least cover up the LACK of salt). I'm on the Michael Thurmond 6 Week Body Makeover and I can't have any added sodium. Let me tell you that the only thing that saved me at first was hot spices. Otherwise I would have given up on just plain chicken. AND another bonus is the spices help me drink my 100 oz of water a day.

| With so many overweight people in the US, diet products have become a multibillion dollar industry with more and more people jumping in trying to sell new products. As for the hot spicy meals, it could be cayenne pepper, known to be a laxative. For those who really want to lose weight the healthy way and eat what you really love, then just get yourself on fresh fruits and veggies. I can't stress this enough. Diets do not work. Eating right does. |
