| sad but true! Minorities We need to show more sympathy for these people. * They travel miles in the heat. * They risk their lives crossing a border. * They don't get paid enough wages. * They do jobs that others won't do or are afraid to do. * They live in crowded conditions among a people who speak a different language. * They rarely see their families, and they face adversity all day every day. I'm not talking about illegal Mexicans; I'm talking about our troops! Doesn't it seem strange that many Democrats and Republicans are willing to lavish all kinds of social benefits on illegals, but don't support our troops and are now threatening to defund them? Please pass this on; this is worth the short time it takes to read it. |

| Great post!!!!! I personally think that the stars and atheletes need to get paid what our military and first responders make and the real heroes should get paid the millions.

| You can say that again. Although if they did, there would be so many people in it for the money instead of it being their life calling.

| i couldnt agree more. when my unit left for Kuwait, we had some guys that didnt even have gas masks that fitor were old-i was so scared for them. in 2003 we were terrified that this was going to be an NBC/chemical war and expected alot of heavy casualties. Now, we have young vets coming back and not getting the psychological and PTSD care they desperately need-so they turn to suicide, drugs, alcohol and cant even function enough to hold down a job. they are expected to come back from war, and just fit right in-like they never left. thats impossible when you are traumatized everyday wondering if you will be alive later that day. ill get off my soapbox now, i just feel the gov't is really neglegent in caring for our vets.

| Thank you for the wonderful post and reminder. I know several young men from our community that are serving there -- by choice. I pray that God protects these young men and women and brings them home to us safe and sound! |

I am very appreciative and have much honor for those that have gone to do their duty to preserve the freedom that we call a way of life. Those that will go tomorrow, have gone today and have gone in times past. God Bless Them All! | |

| Amen! My nephew is currently serving his 2nd tour in the heart (Sadr City -the worst part) of Bagdad. He says the only way the Insurgent's can wander the streets is by dragging women or children around with them. When they enter a building, they shove them outside and shoot them! Since our troops are prohibited from shooting where there are possible civilians, there is nothing that can be done. Now, please tell me this isn't traumatic and won't scar our men and women that have to see this on a daily basis. There is no amount of money in the world that can repay them for what they are doing to protect our country by putting themselves in so much harms way. OK - stepping off my soapbox (this subject could keep me going all day - being an army brat whose dad was gone for 18 months during the Korean War and several times after that). I just keep praying for their safe return to their families.

| lol well then God bless our troops, and God Bless America! lol.. we need to look after our soldiers coming back from war and be supportive in every way! make them talk to you, make them talk to someone! alot of these guys (and gals) come back and want to talk about what they saw-but alot of the spouses cant relate and over time the guys and girls just quit talking and bottle it all up..if the government wont help them, then its our duty to do it.. i cant wait for this war to be over, and for ALL of our troops to come back home-it just isn't soon enough IMO.

| Oh I totally agree, it's ridiculous, makes you sick. When I first read the top half I was a little annoyed and was like "What the..." then I saw the rest...haha. But very good point.

| Thanks for a great post. I agree whole-heartedly. We should keep bumping this post so everyone reads it for the next three years! If you can't support the war at the very least support our troops. They are our heros! |
