| A little vent... and advice on trapping squirrels? We moved to be closer to DH's business and are now renting a home. Our landlords/neighbors have a trap set up for squirrels because they are supposedly destructive and ate through some siding to make a nest in someone's attic. Instead of making a proper repair (all repairs done by their guy seem to be half *ssed, cheap, and lazy) they've decided to trap the squirrels one by one and take them to a state park... This doesn't seem like the best solution to me and will it even make a dent in problem? If that doesn't sound annoying enough, they never keep up with what's in the trap. The other day a poor bird got trapped and was freaking out in there - and it was 99 degrees out. I'm surprised it hung on long enough for me to realize it was in there and free it. Today is another hot day and I heard a squirrel banging around in the trap while sweeping the porch. I waited half an hour to see if they would do anything, finally got fed up and let it out. This just bothers me.

| Bless you heart! A free birdie and squirrel say thank you. Well, at least they are supposedly letting them lose in the state park. Better than killing them or poisoning them. Hate it, though, that they aren't checking the trap all the time. Sorry you have such a slummy landlord with his repair jobs. Cutting corners, aye?

Thanks for your kind words though. I feel better freeing them. They're too lazy to keep on top of their little project so I'll just intervene until they call me out on it.
