| Puppy Mill Challenge If you only had $25 and you wanted to use it in a way that would make the biggest impact on ending puppy mills, how would you use it? This is pretty open-ended, so please put some thought into it. There is a method to my madness, so I really would appreciate your participation. Thanks!

| I would probably donate it to a group that is actively working on getting laws passed to restrict puppy mills.

| So, rather than a political action group, a group that researches, inspects and reports them? What about going at it from the direction of public education?

| What about the HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) Puppy Mill Education Fund? Anyone know about this? I believe the donations go directly to print ads? Ads and Billboards

| Thanks! Would buying a local print ad with their materials be better? that one flier that has the little boy holding the cute puppy and titled "Looking for a puppy?" would be very effective in our local thrifty newspaper where all of our local puppy mill/backyard breeder ads are. Hmmm...makes me think.

| Maybe it's too expensive (but worth it) if there were billboards and commercials to educate people...

BANNED! | I think education is the key to helping stop puppymills. I think working with the HSUS or taking out and ad would be a great way to help. I would also try to start a Stop Puppymills Fund since you said origionally what would you do if you had only $25.00, well if you got more funding you can reach more people with more ads. Maybe do your own website as well. Freewebs.com is a free website source where you can get alot of exposure throughout the United States. |

| I agree with you. It wouldn't be as expensive if you combine your money with the money of others working for the same goal.

What would I do with a website that HSUS isn't already doing better? Reaching my local market is one thing, but what else?

BANNED! | Well a website would be an additional way to reach the public worldwide. There's alot of great info out there and you can add to that info with your knowledge and the info thats here on YT. I think starting a local funding group would be great. There's packets of coupons and such we get in the mail often and its delivered to all the areas we live, so i'd look into sending out flyers in mass mailings possibly. What about a booth at a local flea market, or festival or a similar place?? There you could pass out flyers and educate very well with lots of traffic. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Education is key, and many people have learned that buying from a Pet store is a no-no, but still think it's perfectly acceptable to buy from a website. This is even worse. Responsible breeders might have websites, but they don't sell their pets from the website.
