Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Sand in the City......... Hubby & I took our grand-daughter (& two of our furbabies) down to the river front for "Sand in the City" today. Sand sculptors from area businesses molded and carved over 300 tons of sand into various sculptures. We've gone to this event for the past 3 years since first hearing about it, and it is amazing what they can do with sand! Here are just a few of them.......... 1. - Thomas the Train sand sculpture 2. - Humpty Dumpty sand sculpture 3. - Winnie the Pooh & friends sand sculpture 4. - my grand-daughter Emily (& Halle) in front of one of her favorites sculptures, Spongebob Squarepants

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Besides the sand sculpturees, there were also little carnival-type games for the kids to play, face painting, and a great story teller for the kids. He even got the kids in the action of his stories, which Emily really enjoyed. The event is free to the public, but they do take donations with proceeds going to the Childrens' Home in our area. A few more pics.................. 1 & 2 - Emily and some of the kids taking part in acting out the story-tellers stroy 3 - Hubby and I with Toby and Halle enjoying the stories also. Emily took the picture; almost be-headed hubby and I LOL

| That's really neat! Wish they would have something like that here. We have a beach and everything!

I have no where near the talent these people do, but I remember one year we had a large snowfall in APRIL , right around Easter, so I sculpted an Easter Bunny out of snow for my kids. My kids are adults now, so that was quite a long time ago.

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | They did behave well, but then they were held/carried the whole time. So many people passing us "Ooooo'd and ahhhhh'd" over them. I love showing off my babies!
