| Charity Fundraising Ideas? At work we have this 18-month campaign throughout the company devoted to a specific charity. Well I'm in charge of holding the Charity kick-off event for our site. And I was wondering if anyone had some cheap fundraising ideas that I might be able to do on this day. We have about 1700 employees on 3 shifts. And we are going to have a cook-out on the day. My ideas so far are hold a raffle and sell tickets for $1 and raffle off various prizes (we have baseball tickets and some free company logo stuff that was donated). Or hold a cornhole tournament and have teams buy in and offer the winning team some type of prize. (my boss doesn't really like this idea thinks it will be a logistical nightmare, since we have about 6 different buildings). So I'm looking for some other fun fundraising ideas for work. We have both office and factory employees. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | First of all, I don't know if a missed it, but it will help to know, the type of bussiness and city, but here are a few suggestions: -A dance contest, to participate you need to pay a small fee. -Walkathon, each participant can get a sponsor , the same can be done with the dance contest. -You can also check local restaurants to sponsor by donating food, that can be sold at the event, even fast food restaurants can donate gifts certificates, (to be used as prize) -Raffle a donated item (you can buy the roll of tickets at Party City) Is it going to be a family event, or only for employees? For family events you can have a T Shirt painting contest, that always work for the kids,(young and old) -Karaoke contest, fun and everybody likes it. -Bounce houses , I think thats how they are called, those big inflatable houses used for children parties, there are ones that have a slide, or the one that is like mountain climbing , you can sell tickets for that too. When local businesses are involved and know that you have a good cause they usually give you better prices on rental. HOT DOG EATING CONTEST....!!!!! Good luck!

| Is it a workplace where you are required to dress up? If so maybe you could have a 'dress down' day and anyone that donates $5 gets to wear jeans to work that day?

| Thanks for the suggestion. It's even that will be taking place during a BBQ during the workday. There are about 1700 employees both office and factory. Yeah I've already thought of the raffle idea, and the dress down idea is good, but we really don't have a strict dress code at all. So I don't think that one would work. I'm trying to plan things that can also be done during the 2nd and 3rd shift BBQ lunches which have less people and take place at different times.

| I used to be the head of marketing at the company I worked for (years ago) and had to come up with something like this as well... I chose to do a celebrity silent auction.... contacted the pr people of different celebs and requested a personal item, autographed item, etc. - - - most were very accommodating and quickly sent out different things for the auction.... We got an autographed pair of blue jeans from John Michael Montgomery... an autographed stetson hat from Tim McGraw... can you tell we're in Oklahoma!!! hahaha.... we got several things from Reba - Dolly - etc.... and on into the different celebs, we had items from race car drivers, actors, actresses.... it was great fun and the auction was a complete success!! With the silent auction, items can be set out in a designated area and folks can bid throughout the day/week with each shift... then the announcements and winners can be made at the bbq or whenever! Good luck and have fun with your fund raiser!!

| Our children school just did a big 'Monte Carlo Night'. It was their best fund raiser they have had. They also had a silent auction going on for most of the evening. All of the items were donated by some local businesses. One of the biggest money making items for the night was a "parking spot" (with a sign) at the school. Every year they auction off a front row parking spot! Nobody else is allowed to use it!! My DH used this idea for his empoyees and did a casino night at their 'big yearly meeting'. It was a huge sucess! They also gave away a few company items through out the night. |

| We just did a Bake sale at work yesterday and raised $130.00 in one day. I emailed a handful of people asking for a baked good donation. I thought it was a success.
