| How to get rid of mold Any suggestions on how to fix a mold problem? There is mold next to my window by my bed. I really cant move my furniture or my bed out of the way. I'm allergic to mold and want to get rid of it the best way. Anyone have suggestions on the best mold remover and the best way to get rid of it without spreading it? Should I ask the apartment complex to get rid of it instead? |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Mold on your walls...means a moisture problem. You can remove what you see using bleach, however there is probably more inside the wall and the problem will continue until whatever moisture problem is fixed.

| The mold is on my window seal. Once after my shower I noticed my windows were very foggy from the steam of my shower and I think that's causing the mold. I love my showers real hot in the winter I never pull the blinds in my room until the other day, so I didn't notice until now. The strange thing is the window right next to my br doesn't have any mold It's the window further away. Edited: I'll use bleach. You think the mold will get on my bed since it's right there? If so, you think if i just change the sheets then that good enough? Sorry, like I said I'm pretty allergic to it. I don't know why I didn't react to it. On a scale of 1-5 on the allergy test I was a 4 for mold:s Last edited by cheeselover8481; 06-02-2008 at 03:11 PM. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I agree with the above posts, but there is probably a leak around the window. Sometimes just adding caulking can help. Definitely call the complex manager; this is the sort of problem that they need to be aware of. Killing the mold, won't keep it from returning, and it the meantime it could start growing in the insulation between the walls. You posted just ahead of me, your bathroom doesn't have adequate ventilation. Call the manager, you could be held liable for not informing them of this problem.

| Are you using the fan in the bathroom when you shower? I too have heard bleach and a toothbrush or something to scrub it. If I were you try and find someone who will help clean it for you, otherwise use gloves and maybe a face mask so you don't breath it in.
