Donating YT 500 Club Member | On mine, I don't have to remove the bobbin casing, the lever is just to the right of the casing. Do you see any lever with directional arrows near the bobbin? I've tried looking on line for an answer and will keep trying. I don't know if a picture would help or not. I just saw where you are making buttonholes, my machine has a setting on a knob on the face of the machine for buttonholes.....I don't have to physically change the feed dog position.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | It's possible there is no manual lever. My machine is a Necchi brand and it's been too long since I've used any Singer, I've forgotten. I did find the Singer product manuals link but didn't have your model number. SINGER® SEWING CO. | Manuals I would think being a newer machine it has a setting for buttonholes and you shouldn't have to drop the feed dog.

| why do you want to drop your dog feeds.....is the material too thick?......you should be bale to make button holes without dropping the dog feeds.....there should be a knob or button that puts the machine in the sequence for making button holes...and then just set the length to the length of button hole you want...

| ok then this is what i would do...take 2 straight pins..space them as far apart as the size you want the button hole to be......then set zig zag on 0 or 1 and zig zag the length of it do 2 side by side then ...on the ends widen the zigzag to go across both zig zags and zig zag on 0 that should do it
