| Graduated!! This Saturday my husband and I graduated!! I'm very excited. However, I must vent about how terrible the ceremony was. I'm so bothered by it. My school always has graduation outdoors, the weather is always beautiful... well, not this year! It was pouring rain! It was known that there was a chance for rain for a few days before graduation and the administration of my school did NOT come up with a plan B. I'm so angry. Our ceremony was like 3 minutes long. There were NO SPEECHES and NO READING OF NAMES! I had family drive for hours and stay at hotel the night before... I had friends fly in from Washington... and this is what we get?! I payed $2000/semester EACH (hubby and I) so that we could basically have a canceled ceremony?! We were already drenched and miserable... so why not read off our damn names?! It makes me sad. We graduated with BA's in Math, and our faculty are amazing. They felt sorry for us so we had our own little "ceremony" in a classroom where they read our names and we got to hug all our professors. It was incredibly sweet of them, but it still wasn't the same. We will be attending the University of Denver this fall for graduate school. So I just keep telling myself that when I graduate from DU, that I'll get the ceremony I deserved lol. Sorry for the rant... Here's a picture of us before we got soaked. |

| Well Congratulations on your Graduation (Both of You!!!) That is awewome!!! That's terrible your ceremony was so bad. My son graduated 2 weeks ago from UT (University of Texas) and they did two ceremonies. The first one was at the big convention/concert venue, they had separate ceremonies for each school (his was Engineering) and they called out the names and they walked across the stage. The next night was the University-wide one, no reading of names, but speakers and conferring of degrees and Fireworks too!! You guys deserved that kind of ceremony as well...graduating from college is a BIG, BIG deal!! Again, wishing you both the best and again

| Yeah! That'd be awesome! Thank you all for your kind words. love_me_cody... I do want to go back, I'm going to grad school =D I must admit, I love school. So does my hubby. He doesn't know what he ultimately wants to do with his a degree, but he knows he doesn't want to work, lol. That's why he's going to grad school, to prolong getting a "real" job (we were granted teaching assistantships at DU) I want to be a university professor. |
