| Exploding Electronics We just had a very strong thunderstorm here in south Florida. During the storm two of the electrical wires crossed doubling the voltage coming into our house. We were just having lunch and then we start hearing explosion noises. Everything was popping, the lights would turn really bright and just explode. Almost every electronic in the house is broken including: ac, refrigerators, washer, dryer, tvs, and computers. It was a very scary moment, thank god nothing caught fire because my dad went and immediately cut the power. The house was full of smoke from all of the burning electronics. Luckily everyone is safe which is what matters. It was sort of a reality check of how your life changes in a matter of seconds, because we were preparing to go on vacation tonight to the keys. Luckily, everyone is fine, and that no one was hurt and things could have been a lot worst. It was also a very scary experience for Dino, he ran under my bed and didn't want to come out, he was scared to death. Everyone here is still shaken up. Right now FPL is here working on our power, and fixing the lines, and we are in the process of filling out a claim form. Things happen for a reason and I am glad we didn't leave for vacation last night as was originally planned, because the house could have caught fire.

| Oh, my goodness! I am so sorry this happened to you, but glad that you were there to prevent any further damage. I hope you will still get to have some vacation.

| Oh my goodness! How frightening that must have been. I think I might have been under the bed too! Does the power company have any responsibility in the damage or is that considered an act of God? Hope everything gets handled quickly for you. Every appliance. How overwhelming that must be. It is a blessing that you hadn't left yet. |

| Wow! That must have been scary! I'm glad everyone is okay and nothing caught on fire. Hope you get your AC fixed soon. It's been so hot and humid here lately.

| Thanks everyone. Luckily FPL is going to pay for all the damages because it was an error on their part. We decided to still go on vacation to get our minds off things. Once again thanks for your support!

| Oh no!!!........ that is awful!! My bro had this happen at his house and he was told NOT to use any of the appliances....... a few of his didn't "smoke" (like his oven) but they said that the wiring could be fried and if he would try to turn his oven on ...... it would catch fire!! So please be careful!!... I would definitely make sure that everything that you had plugged in is checked (or filed a claim for) Sorry to hear about your trouble....... hope that you are still able to make your vacation this week.
