| Anyone had any luck selling stuff on Craigslist? I have some things (random pictures, decor, a few small pieces of furniture, etc.) that I'd like to get rid of. It's nothing huge- just things that I'd like to get rid of. I don't even know if it would be worse listing them because, like I said, they are smaller things. I probably wouldn't sell many things for more than $5-10. Anyone had any luck selling stuff on Craigslist?

YT 500 Club Member | I had good responses when selling on Craigslist, just watch out for the scammers. Also have a safe place to meet them. Some people do not like coming to your house.

This is my advise.... Don't do this for only 10 bucks...put a decent price on your items because people are going to bargain with you and you can always come down. Try to screen the people who contact you by getting THEIR phone number & CALLING it - that way you have a record of their number just in case ALWAYS HAVE A CELL PHONE IN YOUR HAND when they come to your home... IF you can - have someone there with you when selling MEET THEM OUTSIDE ...What I did was bring things to my front steps when I knew someone was coming to see unless it was a big item - then I had no choice Put up your EXPENSIVE THINGS - don't leave anything tempting out for strangers in your house.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | rats - my edit didn't post - adding - if you have stuff for 5-10 bucks - just have it out there iwith the more $$$ items - sometimes people will buy other stuff if it's there for them to see - if you have a garage - even better !! I meant to tell you I did sell quite a bit out of my garage....just bring your stuff out there and that way no one has to come into your house |

| Yes...love it We sell on Ebay and Craig's List regularly.....I like CL better , there are no fees...... Lets see, I sold my Henredon couch and love seat yesterday on CL. A few bikes, a truck, my Suburban, a roll top desk......lots, would have cost me a mint on Ebay..... I point is.....make sure you have pics of the item. |

| When we are looking to buy something used, we always look at Craigslist first. We've bought a fish tank (plus ALL the fish - wasn't really looking for fish too, but it was a package deal ) and a few other things, not a problem. We sold our fifth wheel travel trailer on CL to the first people who emailed us to see it. My daughter and son-in-law regularly use CL to buy and sell. We all have had no problems - and I think Villette has some excellent suggestions on how to go about selling! Good luck.

| My hubby sold an expensive electric guitar on there. The guy drove almost an hour to come get it. I was suprised! I think that's all we've sold, I mainly shop. LOL

| Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I think I'm going to take V and list the more expensive things and then offer the inexpensive things to those who want the more expensive things. What doesn't get sold, I'll just donate.

there you go !! Its safer plus - I had one lady to come buy something ....I showed her other things - and she bought ALL of it - if you have things listed too cheap - alot of people will resell it their own selves - my neighbor bought some art from me and I had changed my mind (cuz I shouldn't have sold it) and she didn't even have it anymore...I was so dissapointed and mad at myself | |
