| Surgery is finally over ! My daughter had her knee surgery yesterday, its a big relief that its finally over and we don't have to worry about it anymore, but she is in ALOT of pain today. They had to repair a ligament and once they got in there they found that she had quite a bit of damage to the cartilage under her knee cap, probably from a fall (or falls, she is a figure skater so she lands on that knee alot when she's trying something new), so in addition to the damage they already had to fix, they also had to fix the cartilage and drill holes in her kneecap to allow for better bloodflow Now she has crutches and a "forest gump" looking brace that keeps her leg perfectly straight, which makes it hard to walk on the crutches because she can't pick up her own leg yet. She's getting better at it though. Hopefully she will be able to go back to school in about a week. Please keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery ! Thanks for letting me vent.

| Prayers for a speedy recovery. My daughter and I have both had that surgery. My daughter had to wear the "robo cop" brace for six weeks. They would bend it slightly at intervals. Good luck to her daughter.

| She should be better than ever once she is back on the ice again since she won't have to worry about her knee popping out of place every time she takes a step. Where did your daughter skate ?

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I'm glad that your daughter's surgery is over! I'm having knee surgery next month (maybe sooner as the pain is getting ridiculous). I have cartiledge damage too and a meniscus problem after an injury (everyone thought it was just sprained until I went for an MRI ). If you don't mind sharing...did they mention how long her recovery should take? and is she going to have to be in PT at all? I ask cause I'm getting a bit anxious. I hope she has a quick recovery!
