| Cubic Zirconia Engagement ring? Okay ladies, I need your help! Some of you know what I'm talking about, but some of you don't so I'll recap what's going on. My BF and I just ran into a really unexpected financial situation that is going to put all of our plans on hold for quite awhile...including getting engaged. We've shopped together, we've picked out the ring and he's even been saving money for it ( I know this because he blurted it all out the other night) but now that money has to go to paying rent and bills. Another YTer suggested finding an exact replica of the ring I want in cubic zirconia. I think this is a great idea and I am completely fine with having a "fake" ring for awhile. I'd be happy if he gave me a twisty tie ring, as long as he's proposing! I need your help finding a cz ring! I know if I just mention it to him, he's NOT going to be crazy about the idea. If I can show him one that I found and I really would be happy with it, I think he'd be more okay with the idea. Do any of you have a cz engagement ring? Do you know of any good websites I should be looking at? Tips? Here's the link to the ring that we've looked at: Jewelry from Kay Jewelers, the Jewelry Store for Engagement and Wedding Rings, Diamonds and More

| Hey I'm new here, but I love ziamond.com That's what I have and I don't have to worry about it getting lost or stollen. Stay away from QVC's stuff, I personally don't like it. Good Luck! |

| Check out QVC. Some of their cz's are set in gold. I think it is very smart of you to get a cz instead of going into debt for a diamond if you can't afford it right now. Congratulations

| Kay Jewelers can actually change the diamonds out for CZs. You could get a ring with a CZ now and change it back to diamonds later! I have a couple of CZ rings that I love to wear. Actually, a CZ is not a "fake". It's when you represent it as a diamond that it becomes a fake/lie. I have one ring with a big CZ in it. When rude/snooty people ask if it's real, I always answer, "Yes, it is". Of course, if they ask if it's a real diamond, I tell them "No, it's a real CZ".

| I would do the QVC thing. My mom had gotten some beautiful jewelry from there that is Cubic Zirconia. I always ask her is that real or a CZ speically because they put it in real gold and they are good quality. You could totally get away with it....no one would know!

| I don't know, that's up to him. Significantly less than $4,799 would be nice though!

| We had a jewelry store for 22yrs and it's amazing how many of our "well-off" customers have cz's in their rings...(some were duplicated to match their 'diamond' to wear out for 'safety' and when travelling) ... If I were to get a cz engagement ring, I would go to a jeweler who does his own work (or with a good rep for custom work) pick out a setting (preferrably one that has 6 prongs and the prongs should be white gold to make the stone look whiter (a gold head makes the stone look yellow) 6 prongs look more authentic-surely no one would question the stone that has 6 prongs, afterall why would you protect a cz with 6 prongs? that's what the 'looker' will say.. and they get dirty just like a real diamond -clean it the same way...and now your jeweler can get them with quality ...Doesn't cost anything to inquire!!
