| Personal Trainer OK, I just turned 50. I have been struggling with my weight since I was a teenager. There have been times in my life when I was very fit, but I keep putting back on the same 25 pounds and letting myself get out of shape. Sooo--- I am now working out with a personal trainer 3x per week who is also going to help me with nutrition. Hope this works because it is expensive. It is fun, though, having someone there to motivate you. I had my husband take some before pics last nite. In 3 months I'll come back to post the afters... Anyone else here working with a trainer? What is your experience? |

| I am a personal trainer and I can tell you that it's every bit as gratifying to have someone who is serious about their nutrition and fitness and makes real life changes for the better! Best of luck to you and remember "just do it". It works!

| Good luck! I wish I could afford a personal trainer. I am sure you will see results fast! Can't wait to see the before and afters. I would love to start a group here on YT where a bunch of us members who are dieting/working out could motivate each other and post our progress! I feel like having that extra support really makes a difference.

| Update The personal trainer route has been a good one for me. I have had 17 sessions with the trainer in 6 weeks. I have lost 10 inches, 12 pounds, and gained a lot of muscle. Plus I lost 11% body fat. My body has transformed, and I still have 18 sessions to go. Of course, I have been watching what I eat, and I am doing my cardio on the off days. I will add, that I am EATING ALL THE TIME....I am just eating nutrient-dense foods, no junk, no empty calories. Fruit, veggies, lean protein, whole grains. That's it. I am rarely hungry. When I get hunger pangs at work, I have about 10 almonds, and I am good for a few hours. I feel great. That's the best part. I'll let you know how it goes after another 6 weeks. |

| I know it's expensive for a personal trainer, and part of their (our) worth is in motivating and teaching, but if you are at all self-motivated, there's an EXCELLENT magazine on fitness called Oxygen~ you can buy it on most newsstands these days. They also publish a few special issues a year that deal with specific issues such as Abs, Glutes, Legs, and one of the best is CLEAN EATING....with diet plans and recipes. I believe the Summer issue of Clean Eating is out now. The monthly magazine has lots of different workouts for beginners thru more advanced people and I will admit that it's geared somewhat to fitness competitors, but hey....who says some of you can't end up one of them? I do not write for this publication nor do I get a kickback from recommending them, LOL. I just think it's a very valuable and motivating publication and want to share it with anyone who's interested!

| latest update It's been about 2.5 months since my last update. I'm down another 10 lbs (22 lbs total), and it has been pretty slow but steady progress. And I am eating all the time--heathly food though. I only have about 5 sessions left with my trainer, and I'm going to miss him. I hope I can keep this up myself. I still hope to lose about 7 lbs. I don't really care how long it takes. I feel great, and that is the most important thing. I took a before pic and now I can't find it.... |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That's great. I go to exercise classes 5-6 days a week it's the only way I can stay motivated. I find at 56 it is harder and harder to stay toned.

You go girl. I've tossed around the personal trainer idea for a couple years and you're convincing me to go for it!
