| Golden Retriever Breeders? I am helping my best friend look for a full bred golden retriever puppy. She has wanted one her whole life and is now in a postition to care for one. We are looking for a healthy male. Papers aren't important but would be nice. A referral from a YT member would carry a lot of weight. I know several of you have goldens as well as yorkies. We would like to stay within driving distance of us so Mississippi, Louisianna, Alabama, Tennesse, or Georgia would be ideas. Any suggestions on where to start looking? Thanks in Advance!

| There are goldens in rescue. Please check that out. It is sooooo worth it!!! Check Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten.

Thanks for responding! I actually put in a call to our local shelter today. We're going to go over there on Saturday.

| Thanks for responding Lori! So do the Yorkies and Amy coexist peacefully. I'm terrified that the new golden might play too rough with Jamie. He's only 4 lbs and I don't know what I would do if something happened to him. What order did you get them in and how old were they when they were all introduced? Thanks in advance.

I don't have Goldens, but my neighbor has one, and she is THE sweetest dog!!! I just love her!!! My boys play with her sometimes, and she is awesome with them! She is a very gentle, calm, beautiful girl! My boys love her! I would check for rescues, unless she wants a puppy.

| Well she did want a puppy but is open to rescues so we are going to look at the shelter this weekend. Other than the cute small and cuddly aspect I think she just wanted a puppy so that there wouldn't be such an initial size difference between her puppy and Jamie. That way they could get used to each other without me being in a panic. LOL! But I think I may be nervous either way.

If you can't find one in a rescue, you might try petfinder.com, but just be careful of scammers. They seem to be everywhere. Good luck with your search! Let us know how it goes!
