| Anyone know the Tax Rules for Kansas City? I know in Texas if someone comes in and does a craft show or something from out of state they still have to pay Texas sales tax for whatever they sold. Is it the same for the state the Yorkie Meetup is in? Does anyone know? Just considering my options here and deciding if I want to go and be a vendor or not.

| I really don't know the answer to this, but I certainly wasn't planning on paying any state taxes!!!!!!!!

| Well, I sure hope someone can tell us. It would certainly be a hassle, but if that is the law, I would certainly comply.

| I found the answer! Yes you do have to charge and pay Missouri sales tax. It says the organizer of the event should contact the state and get forms for the vendors to use and also give the state a list of vendors participating in the event. You can also get the tax forms individually yourself from the state. Frequently Asked Questions - Sales Tax at Special Events

| I do teddy bear shows in other states as well as here in California where I have my resellers permit. Anytime I do a show in another state, I have to apply ahead of time for a temporary resellers permit. You need to contact the state (in this case Missouri) to apply for a temporary resale permit. Do a search online for resellers permit in Missouri and you can generally contact them by phone and get the forms in time. If you do not have a resale permit for the state you are selling in, they can (and often do) shut you down and fine you.
