Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Ear Cropping I've been all stressed about the ear tapping. Then over the weekend, I noticed that Aidens ears are so long and flopped over,I don't think he's been cropped. He's a little over 2 mo. Can he have it done now? He goes to the vet tomarrow for shots. Does the vet do it?

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Yorkies ears DO NOT get cropped. They either stand up on their own - or they stay floppy. This is one breed that they don't crop. To help them along, they can be taped, but that's about all there is to do.

| He's young, they could still come up on their own but as xmasbaby said- no cropping. Sometimes when they're teething they will flop also. I taped Gracie's to get them to come up but almost wish I didn't- sometimes the ones with big ears look so cute with floppy ears.

| This may help you get them to stand. Shave all of the hair off the ears on both sides. This will lessen the weight the ears have to hold up. See if they start standing in the next couple of days. If not, I use 1/2 inch masking tape to tape them in place. He will look funky for awhile. Also, when he is teething, the ears might come back down. And they might need a little help standing up again. Good luck!! |
