| tattoo advice As a graduation present my sister has offered to pay for my first tattoo -i'd much rather have cash.. but a tattoo would be cool too, I've wanted one for quite a while now. I want something that means smething to me. Last year we had to put my 20 yr old bichon down b/c of cancer. I'd had her since she was 5 and I was 8. I took an imprint of her paw before she passed. I want it tattooed. Its imprinted in clay, but I think I could maybe scan it and get a good enough image to tattoo. I want it tattooed onto my foot. In addition to the pawprint I want some words... i've found a couple latin phrases I like: a) amor vincit omnia- which means"love conquers all" b) carpe diem- "seize the day" c)Nunc scio quit sit amor: which means "now I know what love is/means" d) finis vitae sed non amoris which means "the end of life is not the end of love" which do u like?

| I know.. or at least thats what I've been told. But I think I want it on my foot anyway.. its the easiest to cover up, plus she was always walking on top of our feet.

| Congrats on your graduation! I like "love conquers all". I love tattoos, though I'm trying to stay at 2. Sounds like it's going to be a nice one. Let us know what you end up getting.

| Oh I LOVE my two foot tattoos! The one on top wasn't as bad. When I first went in, the guy told me he had seen men cry with their foot tattoos! But I sucked it up and it was over before I knew it! In the end, it really wasn't as awful as they made it out to be. Where on your foot do you want it?

| well my foot is only a size 5 adult.. so its not like i've a lot of room to choose from Right now I'm thinking kind of where my ankle meets my foot, with the majority of it being on my foot. I had 7 staples in my skull awhile back, i'm sure this will be easy breezy compared to that

| Any of those sound great. I have heard tattoos on feet def. do hurt. I have one on my ankle and she she went over the bone...I thought I was going to die. Anyway, I went back and got another between my should blades and it did not hurt at all. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Yea..you'll be fine! It's more of an annoying scratch feeling than a throbbing pain.. I mean..I did go back and get a second one on my other foot..so I guess it wasn't too bad for me the first time around..

| i like D. i was a tattoo artist in Dallas for a while. you can bring the imprint with you and an artist will create a sketch. just a reminder though, if you are tattooing the top of the foot it is VERY sensitive and will hurt-heck, any tattoo hurts but there will be a little more sensitive (along with around your belly button-that hurts too lol) once the artist creates the sketch make sure it is exactly what you want. also, some colors may need touched up after time-yellow, red, and white and some browns most likely will need retouched after 10 yrs-and any area in the sun alot will fade more.. it sounds like a really good tattoo-i think all tattoos should be personal and hold alot of meaning, not just something picked off the wall lol.

| Just Beware!!! Tattoo's are freaken addicting!!!!! I got my first one of a balloon with a cross in it for my niece when she passed away. I had a dream about getting it and the next day I went and had it done. Then I got an "itch" and had a cross done on my arm (i'm not really religious) it was just something I used to draw during class (in HS). Then not long after that I got a chain with "pendants" of my 3 kiddo's names in each heart pendant. That tat ended up looking too "manly". Soo while I was deciding on what to incorporate into that one I got a tat of my all time FAV.... TinkerBell. Then I went in after choosing what I wanted to incorporate into the chain and 3 hours later came out with a very nice "touch up" "add on" whatever you wanna call it. It was a little bigger than I had planned but I freaken love it now. Then a couple weeks later my lil sister and I went down and we both got interlocking hearts on the tops of our left foot. Her heart is purple and mine is blue. So we both have purple and blue hearts on our feet. Now I gotta wait for this lil bun in the oven to finish baking (another 3 1/2 months) then I want to go get her name in with the chain somehow. Yep these babies are addicting!!! Oh and I like choice A... that is awesome!!! Good luck choosing and a huge congrats on graduating!!!!! Roni |
