Spokane anyone? Hi! I've got a question for anyone from Spokane or that area. My husband is from the Pacific Northwest (Eastern Washington), and has also lived in Portland. I used to live in Portland with him but he got a wild hair and decided we should move to Texas 8 years ago (I'm from Texas). Texas is fine & quite affordable, but we both really miss the Pacific Northwest and want to "grow old" there. We wanna get away from the heat and back to the mountains & also family. We cannot afford Portland or Seattle areas. He's applied for a transfer to Spokane (don't know if it will go thru yet). We're both in our late 40's (closer to 50 than 40. LOL! ) so we don't do much more than watch tv, go out to eat, enjoy brewpubs, and I really enjoy outdoor activities especially with my dogs. I read all kinds of conflicting info on city-data, so I thought I'd ask you YT'rs to see your thoughts. Is it easy for a silly middle aged woman like me find a job there if she wants, or not? lol!! (I have legal, medical, and mostly bookeeping experience). Anyone have any pointers, tips, ideas, good areas to buy a home in, etc? He really wants to get back to his family since they're getting older. Mine is all deceased so where I live doesn't matter. We have no kids so schools don't matter. Just have dogs & cats. Its tough that our only vacations EVER are flying back to the Pacific Northwest every year to visit family. Would be easier if we just lived back there again. Then maybe we could actually go somewhere else for a vacation. LOL. Thanks! Last edited by MyLadies; 04-24-2008 at 04:15 PM.

I lived in spokane for several years growing up. We loved it and my parents kick themselves all the time over not retiring there (my dad was military) They want to go back this summer and vacation there, they really miss it. It seems like someone here lives in spokane now, if i remember who i'll post

Thanks! Keep the replies coming. I need to PM Tigers Mom I guess. I really miss how laid back & calm everyone and everything is up in the Pacific Northwest.
