| Nevada - California Hi there !! My husband and I are planning a trip to Las Vegas and then California. We're flying from New Brunswick (Canada) to Las Vegas. We're staying there (Aladdin hotel??) for about 4-5 days. Then we're renting a car and we're driving to Hollywood, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Long Beach, etc. Don't know where we're staying yet in California. I know we're going to visit the Hoover Dam and the Gran Canyon as well, oh and we're also going to San Francisco. Could you tell me if the Aladdin hotel is a good place to stay? Also, what else is there to do in Las Vegas except the casinos?? Any suggestions for hotels in Los Angeles that's close to everything? I'd like to go see Dr. Phil, Céline Dion or Elton John... maybe Cirque du Soleil?? Where should I buy tickets? I always love input from people who actually live in these areas. Thanks very much, looking forward to your replies!!! Shelley

| My bf went to Vegas last year with a few of his friends. He went to some aquarium and thought it was pretty cool. I think it's in one of the bigger hotels/casino's- maybe the mirage- but I'm not sure. I found the information for him on MSN, so you could try a search of that site. He went in October and said it was very hot- so bring lots of tanks and shorts. They also went to some Renaissance (sp?) dinner- with jousting and all- and liked it, but I don't know if that's more of a boy thing. His friends went to go see Blue Man Group and liked it. Bring your own alcohol and do some "pre-gaming" in your hotel room if you plan to go out drinking at all. They went to one of the bigger clubs and a mixed drink was $18- and that's after the $20 cover charge!! |

| That is quite a vacation/trip! The Aladdin is a nice hotel. You'll find plenty to do in between the casinos such as shopping (lots and lots of shopping!!!), seeing the shows, eating at the buffets, etc. You can purchase tickets for shows through the hotel which hosts each show. (Example: Blue Man Group - Luxor Hotel). In LA, there are quite a number of hotels to choose from. My suggestion would be to stay in a hotel near Hollywood. Hollywood is situated pretty much near the center of the "touristy" areas. As far as choosing hotels, it depends on what your budget is. I can mention quite a few of them. The Standard Hotel. The Roosevelt. The Regent Beverly Wilshire. Lots more. Regarding show tapings, you can get free tickets by visiting the websites for the major tv studios. http://www.nbc.com/nbc/footer/Tickets.shtml (Jay Leno show is extremely popular) http://abc.go.com/site/tvtickets.html http://www.cbs.com/info/user_service..._tickets.shtml (You can go on the Price is Right) http://www.fox.com/community/askfox/ (Scroll down to question #10) Be sure to submit for tickets in advance. Tickets go quick. |

| did someone say las, vegas well we are locals in vegas too...our entire family lives there so we go there back and fourth throughout the year. the aladdin is a good hotel, it sits in the middle of the strip wich is a very good thing if you want to go hotel hopping and see all the free shows. also you can check out a place called "the beach" it's a night club that alot of locals go to and it's always a big party, you can check out the shark reef at mandalay bay hotel, cirque de solei is good, studio 54 is ok it's pricey to get in if your not a local, also go to the forum shops in cesars palace every hour on the hour they have a show that is cool, the wynn hotel is nice but it's kind of a ways from where you'll be but you can rent a little buggy. also you have to ride the new ride up on the strastosphere it is cool then there's the hard rock this is one fun place!also check out rum jungle in the mandaly bay it is off the wall also don't forget to ask the front desk for coupons and specials alot of times you can get free buffets and discount tickets to special events! have fun and if you need more info feel free to pm me. i know of alot more places but i don't want to take up too much space
