Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Please say a prayer... I am so frustrated right now. Hubby was laid off last night. I do believe in the power of prayer so I would like to ask you my YT family to say a prayer for him. Hubby called to see if his orders would be ready for him to deliver and his boss told him we will have to lay you off. It's hard because he has worked for them 5 years and never once took a day off. The man works hard and is never late or calling out. The lack of notice pushes us up to a wall because there is only this weeks check and then next week. Being self employed there is no unemployment. I feel so bad for him and I am just so angry on his behalf right now. They didn't give a longer notice because it wasnt' going to be beneficial to them. My head hurts and my stomach feels like it's in a knot. That job was great because he worked nights. Granted it sucked because we didnt' get much time together until the weekend but it helped because we have a 3 year old at home and a 8 and 12 year old. So it helped to avoid paying for a sitter and also someone to pick up the girls from school and watch them as well. Literally here in NY childcare for the three kids would be outrageous. It was a sacrifice but we made it and it worked for us.

When it happened then I worked literally a double shift at work. Thankfully at the time god provided and things were super busy so I was able to carry us without a hitch. I was drained but I did it. The problem with him collecting unemployment is that he is self-employed so he can't collect. I am so frustrated and sick to my stomach.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so sorry. I don't know how we are suppossed to live anymore since all the jobs are going away. I was laid off after 33 years at the same company with no notice. Fortuantley I was able to take early retirement at a much reduced amount. I pray something works out for him real soon.

I am sending out his resume and I want to see what his boss says on Monday. Hopefully they can find something. We ideally want him to maintain and work there another year until little man goes to Kindergarden then we can figure out on him working a regular 9-5 again.

Patti that really sucks. My dad got laid off last year and he is only four years away from being able to collect a partial on his social security. Now it's hard to find work when your up there in age...they want to hire the young ones that they can pay next to nothing. I am glad that things worked out somewhat good for you. Amazing how we just want to make our regular money and live a nice quiet life and things get mucked up. You know what kills me is hat we have peple really struggling and you have someone like Clinton that made $109 million this year.

| Big ' s to you..... I am so sorry to hear this and I can imagine the frustration, anger and fear you must be feeling. DH came home yesterday all down in the dumps and didn't want to talk about the reason why, but last night I put on something funny to watch and we watched our Brady Bunch have a wonderful time with zoomies, chew toys and such and that seemed to relax him enough to tell me what was on his mind. It seems there were massive layoffs where he works and it looks like his whole department might soon follow suit. He does have some warning and was not taken by surprise like your dh, but with me chronically ill ... he does worry and it is so unfair. Like your dh .... he never has missed a day and works so very hard. I just wish that there was something I could do to help him worry less.... I guess we just need to trust in the Lord and hope that when these doors close it will offer an opportunity of greater value and importance. Hugs to you.... Janie |
