| Nervous... Hey everybody... So, after another 72 hr long migraine I have decided to finally go see a Dr. tomorrow afternoon. Actually, my husband kinda decided for me after my being unable to sleep last night because the light from the moon was making me incredibly nauseous...fun stuff.I've been avoiding this appointment for 4 years. Mainly because all the people I have known with chronic headaches have all discovered that they have major health problems. Needless to say I am hoping that they are caused by something SUPER common and easy to fix! Prayers & happy thoughts are much appreciated ! ~Thanks~

| It's good your going, if it is something really wrong you need to do something about it. I have a feeling if you have had this for 4 years it is fixable... otherwise you would have known it was really bad a ong time ago. Keep your faith up and your fear down. God bless...

| That's horrible to have to endure for all those years. You sound like a doctor-phobe (I recognize it because I am one too). You will be better off going...and like the other poster said...if you had it for four years, chances are it isn't something that'll do you in. I'll be thinking about you. Let us know what he says. Saying a prayer for you...

| It's terrible to go through life in pain. I do hope the doc can help you and nothing is seriously wrong, which I doubt. I know several girl's who unfortunately suffer from migrane's. Diet can play a role also. Prayer's coming your way. P.S. Hepburn was my maiden name I always told everyone, when I was a youngin, that K. Hepburn was my aunt Love that lady. |

| I am sorry about your Migrains!! my mother suffered for YEARS!! then when in my 30's i started having them- I was scared to death of having them for years like Mom! About the 3rd on I went to ER they gave me a hypo-splet for hours- woke up better- but weak for a day or so! I could not keep anything down though- nothing- I have probably had 12 in my life- have not have one in a long time!! I thought choc- like puddings types triggered mine-but could eat candy bars! My mother thought garlic triggered hers??? sometimes it is a food thing!! Hope Dr's can help you!!!

| I feel so bad for you! I, too, suffer from chronic migraines and have for a long time. I went to a specialist last year and was nervous like you. They did SEVERAL tests, including a full physical, blood work AND MRIs. I know you are scared that there may be something wrong, but after all of this testing, I was fine...nothing seriously wrong with my health. I continued to go to this specialist and I was on different prescriptions. They will want you to reevaulate your diet and how much sleep you are getting (all triggers). Up until a little over a month ago, I was getting migraines 2-4 days a week (each one lasting 2 days). I was incredibly depressed and tired of missing out on life...I have 2 toddlers and was not even able to enjoy being a stay-at-home mommy because I walked around in constant excrutiating pain! I say take your doctor's advice and also do your own research. I decided that, for me personally, I didn't want to have to constantly take prescriptions and then Imitrex on top of it. I researched and have gone the natural way...herbal supplements. I have only had 3 migraines in about a month and a half!!! This has been life altering for me and my family. If you want, PM me and I would love to tell you what has worked for me. I wish you luck at your doctor's office today....you will get this figured out, I promise! | Thank you all for the prayers & thoughts & for reassuring me that it'll be okay ! Archie: Hepburn sadly isn't my last name...I'm an Audrey Hepburn nut so thats where my s/n is from! She had a yorkie named Mr. Famous and originally that was going to be Xavier's name...lol. TammyJM: I am so glad you were able to find something that works for you! I can not imagine how difficult it would be to deal with these "headaches" with little toddlers around! Bless your heart! I will definitely be PMing you later in the day to find out what worked for you because I do NOT like prescription medicine at all! Betty'sMom: I AM a doctor-phobe! I strongly dislike going! a2luckygirl: They may be caused by my diet? Although, I've been vegan, vegetarian, and just your plain old normal eater over the past few years...the only food products that are consistent in my diet would be cheese. I hope CHEESE is NOT my trigger...I'd cry! Lol

| Well I am back from my appointment, and as I suspected I now have 1 daily prescription and also a pre-migraine med. I'm having a CT scan done next Wednesday just to be sure everything is okay. So about these prescriptions...I am now supposed to be taking Amitriptyline and Zomig. The Amitriptyline bothers me because it is generally used as an anti-depressant. Should I be worried? Has anyone used this for treatment of migraines? Zomig doesn't bother me since it made specifically to treat migraines, but I still dislike the thought of taking a lot of meds. Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated!

| I have to take Zomig for my migraines - I have the kind that you dissolve under your tongue - they taste awful but they work fast and it does work really well for me. Good Luck! |
