| 44 year old KID!!!! Soooo, hubby decided to hop on my 10 year olds motorized scooter on Easter sunday and the front wheel got hung up in a crack and sent him flying!!! the last thing he heard was me yelling "be careful!!" He landed on his head and shoulder. When he got up blood was gushing from his head from a 3 inch hole that went clear to his skull and his shoulder was killing him. Spent the evening in the ER for stitches and x-rays. He cracked his collarbone and is in a sling. So I've been nursing him back to health all week and he went back to work for a bit this morning. Sometimes I wonder if he will ever grow up, but do I REALLY want him too...probably not! The good thing is, now I don't hear anymore complaints from my 10 year old about wearing his helmet. BTW...letting you guys know I changed my user name from MorkieAz to YorkieAz and also got my hair cut. Guess I needed a change. |

| We are definately thankful that his injuries weren't worse than they are...I swear I thought he was dead, he didn't move for a couple seconds and I had a wave of fear run through me. Honestly, afterwards I was pretty pissed at him, just thinking about what COULD have happened. Changing my hair and user name, is this a mid life crisis??? |

You know, I may have messed up with the hair change, not thrilled with it. Haven't let anyone take my pic yet and probably won't. I've always had long hair, I'm finding it very hard to get used to it being short, it still shocks me in the morning when I look in the mirror. | |

| You all are thinking this but won't say it Sorry....I dont mean to laugh.....but, I can envision my Hubby doing this....and after I found out he was ok..... I would have to laugh.....they are such babies...... We have an odd sense of humor here anyway....like the time good ol Mom tried to ride a mini bike.....and I ran up the tree and flipped it over on me.... so see....maybe it is just an AGE thing.....ha ha ha ha |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | What a terrific dad -- purposefully falling and injuring himself to show your son the importance of wearing a helmet! At least that's the story I would tell if I were him!

| You guys crack me up!! You know, my 10 year old has not ridden the scooter for a week now, I think this really affected him. He won't go near it, rides his bike only now. I feel bad for him because he used to ride it every day and loved it. |
