| I need help reading a pattern: Ok ladies, I have never sewn before from a pattern and I am going to attempt a simple pattern but I need help... the brand is Simplicity.. I am trying to make a full body apron and the supplies read: Fabrics: 45'' wide with or without napotted Swiss, Cottons,Broadcloth,Calico,Chambray, Chintz,Gingham. What does all this mean? Notions: thread. A. two pkgs. og 1/4'' wide double fold bias tape, 4'' length of 3/4 Velcro? Can you translate please.... |

| The pattern is giving you suggestions for the type of fabric's you can use. It is also giving you the amount and sizes of the bias tape(for edging i assume) and the amount and width of the velcro. How much sewing exp do you have?? If not much i'd stay away from a fabric with a nap(like microsuede, corduroy ect)

| ZERO sewing experience well except for home ec. in high school years ago...lol.. but I wanted to try something different and this apron looks fairly simple... i hope.. i have a brothers sewing machine (which I cant understand ) and a little shark euro pro X or can do it by hand... I just want to learn and want to do it the simpliest way first get my feet wet... |

Good luck! If you really have a desire to sew, go to a sewing machine store in your area and see if they offer a refresher course in basic sewing!
