| Say a little Prayer for me today! I've only been on here for a short while and this is my first post as a donating member, but it's an important one. For those of you who know me, you know I suffer from severe anxiety and Panic attacks. I have been dealing with this for over 7 years now and it has gotten alot better, but not completely. For those of you who didn't know, I guess you do now. I'm not ashamed of it anymore, Nor am I ashamed of my Faith! I'm seeing a new Dr. ( a specialist) in about 4 hours and I'm nervous, but I have faith that God will guide us both in the right direction. If you're a praying person, please take a moment and say a little prayer for me and the Doctor. Pray that God will give him the knowledge he needs to help me and me the strength to change what I can on my own. I really have faith that I am doing the right thing and that I will get better soon! There are alot of people including friends, family, and my church sending up prayers for me right now but I believe the more people I have talking to God on my behalf the better! T Thank you all so much for being part of my YT family! Kind Regards, Heather (Adelaide's Mommy)

| I will be saying a prayer for you. I too suffer from panic attacks, have been on medication for a long time now. It has greatly improved but if I am stupid enough to forget meds ( I sometimes do ) boy oh boy do I suffer! You are right, there is nothing to be ashamed of, it is just an illness like anything else. I never really bring it up in conversation, just as I never talk about being a cancer survivor, unless in a situations like this, when I want to let someone know that I know what they are going through. I have learnt to live with it and avoid situation that may cause them. I NEVER drive on highways, and have found that the back streets are usually quicker anyway I tend to stay within a circle of friends that I love and trust and lately I spend an enormous amount of time on HERE lol. There is a supermarket in town that for some reason, whenever I go there I have an attack, so now I don't go to that one. My dh always knows when I am having one, he says my speech becomes slurred - thank goodness you can't hear me on here see, I can even laugh at myself now! I hope the new Dr. can help you. Please update and tell us what he says. I would be very interested to know. I hope it helps to know that you are not alone. I think there are more of "us" around than people think You are in my thoughts and prayers Sheilagh

| I had severe panic attacks years ago...they are brutal. I take medication and, thankfully, have them under control. You don't have to suffer from them. There is help. Good luck to you (hug)!

| You are in my prayers. I have had several anxiety attacks myself and have been on antidepressants for years. My daughter suffers from social anxiety disorder. Please let go and let God take care of you. I hope this new doc helps.

| Heather,I have had panic atacks for years, so I know how helpless you feel. They will go away once you learn to accept them and not fight them. Just let them come and I know this is alot harder than it sounds, believe me. Do you also have agorphobia as a result of the panic attacks? I will keep you in my prayers,If you need to talk about them to someone who has been there,I'm here for you. It really helps to know you are not alone with this and others have been there. Try finding a book called "Hope and help for your nerves" By Dr. Claire Weeks. |
