| Have any airline travel tips for me? I haven't been on a plane since I was 8yrs old and that was only a short ride from Atlanta to Nashville. In a couple weeks I will be going from Savannah, to Atlanta, to NYC, to Minneappolis (but I keep the same plane here), to Boise. I leave Savannah at 8:30 am and dont' get into Boise until almost midnight, so if you factor in the time change btwn time zones, thats almost 16 hrs sitting in an airport or on a plane. So any tips for me? Am I allowed to bring snack on the plane? How big can my carry on bag be? Whats the best way to make sure my luggage doesn't get lost. Any other hints, tips, suggestions will be appreciated. I'm so scared I'm either going to miss one of my flights, or they're going to loose my luggage!

| Well, I have NO tips for you. The only flight I've ever taken was when I fell down the stairs when pregnant and had to be flown to the right hospital on the LifeFlight helicopter. I do not fly. But we can get from Central Illinois to the Gulf of Mexico in a day. What else do I need to do? Anyway, I just wanted to bump your thread, because if I were you, I would definitely need my thread to be seen and answered!! Have a good and safe trip!

| You can take a snack but no liquid drink. You have to purchase that once you go through security. Wear shoes that aren't to complicated as you'll have to remove them to get through security. Also you'll have to remove your jacket so keep that in mind. I think they've even made me remove my sweatshirt before! Be sure to put an ID tag on your luggage and it'll be fine. ETA: If you are really worried that your luggage is going to get lost, and your trip isn't to long, you could always just pack a carry-on bag. I think carry-on bag size varies depending on the airline.

Thanks. My mom has never flown at all. She says she likes to keep her feet on the ground.

What the temp usually like on the plane? Should I wear a sweatshirt and take a blanket? Also, How long do you have to board the plane before take off? I'm trying to decide what airport I should get lunch and dinner at.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | It's usually comfortable on the plane. If you're too warm...you can turn the a/c vent thing to hit you directly. Planes usually start boarding 30 minutes before the flight leaves.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Your carry on has to fit either in the upper compartments or beneath the seat. A small suitcase will fit in the upper one....

The temp. on the plane really varies. I would think you would be fine with just a sweatshirt. Typically you can ask for a pillow and blanket on the plane if you should need it. Boarding time really varies with what airline you are flying with; With some you board according to letter/section. Normally boarding begins about 30- 45 minutes before your flight is supposed to depart. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it to much. I'm sure you'll be fine! Just grab lunch and dinner in the same terminal of your flight, if you can, so that you can listen out for when your flight boards.
