| This is off topic but I need help For anyone who has had/have kids with the flu! My 6 y/o came down with the flu on tuesday. My questions for anyone would be: 1. He will not eat, he will take 1-2 bites of watermelon (that's all he wants) and maybe I can get 3 little sips of soup down him. How can I get him to eat? Do I need to force it? 2. His head and back hurt him so much and he cries because of the pain. His dr said to just give him tylenol and motrin. they are working for his fever but not the pain. What have you done? I would love to let him soak in a tub for the pain but his fever is too high.

| Does your doc have a nurse on call or an after-hours doctor? I think if you put the questions the way you've worded them here, they will offer more concrete help? Is he drinking...lots of fluids? How about popsicles? Jello? Ice cream? Those might help with fever too. Poor baby and poor you! I am so sorry!

| Try popsicles. My 5 year old granddaughter had the flu and she wouldn't eat or drink so she was put in the hospital because she got dehydrated. I would watch him very closely 'cause they get dehydrated so fast. My 5 month old grandson also had it and he ended up in the hospital for 5 days. I'll send prayers your way.

| I work at the Student Health Center in my town and the nurse practitioners kept telling people to alternate tylenol and ibuprofen every three hours to keep the aches at a comfortable level as well as keep their fever down. I doubt this helps, but I wanted to at least try! |
