| Daddy's back in the hospital He's been in since Monday. Mama called me at work and said she heard him moaning early that morning and when she checked on him, he was shivering so hard the whole bed was shaking. She tried to get him up to go to the Dr and couldn't, so she had to call an ambulance. He was admitted and all kinds of tests have been done. Chest x-rays are clear, bloodwork is good. He's very dehydrated, but has been getting fluids since Monday. He's nauseated and his heart is racing. His Dr says it's gastrointeritis and a virile infection. His temp runs from 101 to 103. He getting meds for the racing heart but he's NEVER had a problem with his heart before. I'm scared - I'm scheduled for bariatric surgery next Wed (12th) and Mama doesn't want me to come to the hospital because she doesn't want me to catch anything before my surgery. I feel SOOOO guilty for not being there!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Sending hugs and prayers - I think you should listen to mom - or put on a mask and gown and sneak in there - that's what I did when my cousin was in a coma and they didn't know why (I was pregnant at the time) but he was my best friend and I HAD to be there - I'm so glad I did because he didn't make it .....I'm NOT saying your dad isn't going to make it - but feel if you take the proper precautions maybe you can visit - Doctors and nurses do it all the time and they don't catch every little thing - I hope I'm ok for saying all this - it's your dad and if I were in your shoes I'd want to be there - HUGS !!! And all the best to him - I hope they find out why he's so sick |

| I am so very sorry that your daddy is sick. Sending hugs and prayers your way. Please listen to your mom. If you are scheduled for surgery next week, you don't want to be exposed to any comunicable disease. Call him on the phone and write him a nice card. | Hey, I know your upset....let me tell you gastrointeritis HURTS! Its defiantly something they can fix, but until then I can see why he wasa moan and shaking, I had gall bladder surery and had that air in my stomache after teh sugery, I was rushed to the ER about 4 tmes for demerol shots.......I was sweating and shacking, and screaming as quitly as I could. Thank GOD it didn't last long. When his meds kick in he will probably never have this again, I also got gastrointeritis once from eating fat free chips made with olestra. The doctor said olestra usually dosen't bother people, but the % of people it did bother, it was bad. Keep us updated and good luck with your surgery. Angie |

| I know you must be worried. At least he's in the hospital where they can watch him 24/7. Your Mom's right about staying away since you're going to have surgery soon. Can you call him and just talk on the phone? I know that will make you feel better, him too probably! Good luck! |

| I'm sorry your Dad's back in the hospital. They will take good care of him so don't you worry. It's important to take care of yourself now too so you can get your surgery done next week. The hopsital is full of germs and your mom is right. Don't feel guilty. You Dad wouldn't want you to get sick. When he's up to it talk to him on the phone. God willing he will be home before you have to go in yourself. Best wishes to you too. |
