| How weird... Last night hubby told me there was an ad for Yorkies in the newspaper and just out of curiosity I asked what the ad said. He stated not much just Yorkies and the prices, that they were 8 weeks old, and number. Well I also go to a local classified website and this same number was listed under the animals for sale section. I clicked on it and it stated the pups were 6 weeks old and ready to go! Then another one of his ads said they were 7 weeks old. All the same pups. Also, all of these ads were ran on the same day. I think there may be a bad breeder in my area. Is there anything I can do to "investigate" this shady sounding breeder??? I'm usually not the one to get involved in anything like this, but I really feel for these pups, esp. if they are 6 weeks old.

| You can call the number and ask if you can see the puppies. Then if they are bad breeders call Animal Control. If you go to their house you will have their address. Block your number when you call the person so they will not have it.

| I made a fake email account up to see if I could see what they look like. I'm trying to sound interested.

| Puppy ads Too young to let go! I admire you for wanting to get involved and check out the truth. I tend to be a serious advocate for animals, I would tread lightly re: purchase they are far too young, sounds like backyard breeders at their best. What $$$ are they asking? YT members will give you good advice . Keep us posted. I hope it will be a happy ending for the pups.

| Is it illegal to sell puppies under 8 wks. in Indiana? If so you could act interested and if they are under 8 wks. you could report them. You are so awesome for wanting to do something!

| call and sound interested. He may not be letting them go until 8-12 weeks of age. I do not know the law there in IN. Check what he says and if he says he is letting them go so young, question it. Clever of you to notice it even. Good Luck!

| Thank you so much!!!! I e-mailed these people but they never have returned my e-mail. This classified website is so full of terribe sounding "breeders". Several people list more than one breed for sale. It's really sad. If he is letting them go at 6 or 7 weeks I am definately going to report him. Who would I call?

| I called on an ad once that didn't have an age listed and over the phone was told the puppy was only 6 weeks old I gave them a little piece of my mind (they of course didn't care) and then called the newpaper and had the ad removed since its also a law here in Colorado that they have to be 8 weeks.

| It may be that they paid for the add for a period of several weeks and the age does not change from week to week...ya never know. Although, I have to say, given the advertised ready-to-go age, doesn't sound like my kind of breeder! |
