Donating YT 14K Club Member | Hurricane Emily Has anyone been keeping up with this? I've heard that it's up to a category 4 and it hasn't even entered the gulf yet. It's suppose to hit the Brownsville area but with our low pressure that we have right now, it could come up our way. Even if it doesn't we have to worry about the tornadoes and power outeages that last for days at a time. I was here for Claudette and that was only a category 2/3. I think that I'm going to go to Lowes or Home Depot and start buying plywood to be prepared. My husband is working night through Monday night so that will leave me to do all of this and to be honest, I'm scared. Does anyone have suggestions? I know to stock up on water, ice, candles and batteries. What do you suggest?

| Do you have a UPS so that you could go ahead and power it up, have some battery backup reserve and at least have a tv and some lights during the storm? Best of luck to you all. |

| I don't live in Texas but I do live in Florida. So I have been through this many times before. Its best if you for batteries, flashlights, I am not sure about the ice because it will melt soon enough. You need a radio..full charged to check out the warnings for the hurricane. You need a route just incase anything bad happens. First Aid Kit...A generator. Canned Goods...But nothing that can like spoil over night. You can have crackers...snacks. That kinda thing. Umm probably I would say I just brought a little tv for hurricanes so me and my family can stay tuned in for the weather purposes. Blankets lots of water. Just in case. Just take alot of gallons and like reagular water bottle...Like a few cases. And not to forget cash as well. And here is a website that can help you alittle bit more. http://www.aroundcentralflorida.com/...anes/kit.shtml

| The storm might hit the gulfs of Texas?? Whatt?! I didn't even know there was another hurricane! Victoria is about 6 hours south of me. I wonder if this will effect Dallas? Yesterday, a thunderstorm hit us and it was raining like nuts. The highway was flooding and my car almost got stuck and died out but I had to just accelerate to get through the water. It was scary. |

| My boys ages 11 and 13 are with their Dad in Corpus Christi and my youngest one called me and asked me to pray for them. He is excited for his first hurricane but also scared- he freaks out at lightening storms! I am freaken out being here in a thousand miles away knowing the only think I can do is pray the storm slows down! My heart and prayers go out to everyone in Emily's path! Hopefully she will just be light winds and rain nothing dangerous

| Here is the best link for tracking Hurricane Emily: it comes from the national weather service website: http://www.stormtracker.noaa.gov/stormtracker-emily.htm

| What they were saying earlier today is that it should hit the Texas/Mexican border or further south. One thing we stock up on is a means to cook food after the storm. Charcoal for a barbeque pit or propane if you have a gas grill. If I were anywhere near where this one is slated to hit --- I'd get out. They say this one could be a cat 5 storm. Best of luck to anyone in the path.

| Where is Levelland compared to Corpus? I have been watching TV and thinking/hoping it will just be high winds in Corpus Christi is looks like the very edge will just hit them! I keep praying for that cause I can't be with my kids when this hurricane hit!
