| How do I get rid of this SORE THROAT?! I've been coughing for the past couple days (nothing major), but today I woke up with a sore throat and a THROBBING headache. I've been trying to sleep it off to no avail...I think I've been in bed most of the day Anyone know how to lessen them, without taking any aspirin? I don't feel like going out and getting some. |

| Oh be careful it might be the start of the flu. Have you gargled with warm salt water? Sometimes that helps. Hope you feel better soon.

| What works for me is gargling salt water and then drinking some warm honey mixed in with water (coats the throat etc.) hope you feel better

| I agree with the salt water and actually there is this awesome herbal tea that my doctor actually told me about. It's called throat coat tea. They sell it here in the grocery store. It really really works. I swear by it! When my doctor told me about it I was thinking "yeah, right. Tea" but I tried it and it really does work. I think it has licorice root in it and that somehow reduces the swelling in the throat, something like that but try it. It was the only thing that would work for me and it actually helps for a few hours. Good luck and hope you feel better. |

| I'm just getting over the same thing! Look down your throat with a flashlight. I had some white looking things that actually wasn't Strep, but a bacterial throat infection. I'm still on antibiotics. My nose is still a little runny, but my throat is not hurting now. It took about a week to stop, though. A lot of kids at school are getting it too. I bought some OTC nighttime cough and sore throat liquid, and it works well.
