My Lil Man! Donating Member | What kind of wines do you like? I am looking for a good yummy wine for Valentines day. Got any suggestions? My fiance isnt a big wine person so I need something more juice-tasting. (When I say that...I have had some wine that tastes like apple juice or grape juice with a lil fizz to it and I have had some that tastes like vinegar..not sure if it was wine or champagne tho. Lol) Thanks in advance for all suggestions!! |

| If your fiance isn't a big wine person I would stick to champagne. Try Barefoot Cellars Pinot Grigio Champagne. It is a very light tasting champagne, easy to drink. I have seen it at Trader Joe's and Safeway. I buy it when I don't want to spend a lot of money or just feel like a glass of champagne on a Tuesday night! |

My Lil Man! Donating Member | Also...what is the price range on these drinks? Lol. I would hate to spend alot of money on a bottle and possibly end up not liking it...but I have also heard that the better drinks do cost a lil bit but there are some that are good that arent priced too bad. Oh and can these be found in walmart, or grocery stores or is it limited to ABC/pakage stores. Thanks!! Can you get it in grocery stores like Winn Dixie or Walmart? and whats price(if you dont mind me asking) |

I suggest that you try an Ice wine or Eiswein, as they are called in Germany. They are a desert wine so they are sweet. The grape is picked after the first frost, so their is more sugar in the juice that is squeezed while making the wine. They do cost a bit more, some are $15 while others are $50 and up, but you will not be disappointed. Here are names of a few that I have tried Some I ordered through our local wine shop, visited the winery, or others I was able to get it stores like Krogers, Meijer and Trader Joes. Schlink Haus 2005 , Weingut Schick 2003 Silvaner Eiswein, Jackson Triggs 2003 Vidal Icewine, Fireland winery Icewine 2007, Dillnamm 2004 Icewine,Rudolff Muller Rheinhessen Eiswein 2004. Inniskilln Riesling Niagra Penimsula Icewine 2006, Covey Run Yakina Vallel Reserve Semillion Icewine 2005. Another sweeter wine that I have tried and liked is a Plum wine, Fu-KI Plum, its about $12 for a bottle. I hope this helps a bit.

I agree...or you can go with a Proseco (an Italian Champagne) that's very good too and you can purchase a bottle at a very reasonable price at your grocery store or wine store. I love wine and I always say there is a wine out there for everyone you just have to find it and the best way and cheapest is to attend wine tastings. A lot of the wine stores around us have weekly wine tastings with each week being a different variety and some cost $5 some $10 and you get to tast at least 6 wines (3 white; 3 red) and that's a good way to find out what you like. Then if you really get into wine then you need to look at the Riedel wine glasses.

My favorite too! I drink Chateau St. Michelle. If you want champagne drink a spumati - they are sweeter than a brut. I like Cook's.
