| Anyone have a bachelors in biology? Well, my husband is graduating in this spring with is BS in Biology! Yay..finally! He originally planned to go to optometry school (just bc he would have taken over the practice and he thought it would be smart). Now, he doesn't want to go, he's still going to apply, but his hearts not in it. Also, his grades arent really that great either thanks to a wonderful game called World of Warcraft....DONT let your kids play it! Anyway if anyone knows someone or yourself who majored in biology what in the world do they do?!?! He doesnt really want to teach, but he will. Answers anyone? |

| I have a bachelors in biology but there weren't jobs available when I graduated in '98. There were research jobs available but they didn't pay enough to support me...I would have made more money waitressing. Immediately following undergrad, I went to grad school and I have a masters in speech/language pathology

| He might consider nursing school - you're probably thinking, "Oh no! My husband couldn't be a nurse!" But there are many men in nursing and entering with a bachelors in biology would be great. He could go to a program for people with degrees in other areas, such as biology, and in 3 years (or less) he would have a master's in nursing and could pretty much have his pick of jobs making anywhere from $60,000 - $120,000 per year. These programs are usually called second degree master's in nursing or alternate entry nursing programs.

| One of my friends has a degree in Biology and she's a Heart Perfusionist. She went to Perfusion school for a year. He could probably apply for any kind of medical type field...I graduated with a major in Biomedical Science and am in vet school. And then there is always teaching

| If he likes sports, he might get a masters in Kinesiology to work in sports management or something similar. Biology would be a very good basis for advanced kinesiology. Or perhaps physical therapy. Usually biology is a good basis for any time of health related field. It will require more time in school-but that is the nature of a degree like biology or psychology. Is he interested in law enforcement? All you need is a degree, not necessarily a specific one. My brother in law is a fire fighter and since they work 24 hours on at a time and then some days in a row off - you can usually have a second job or you can have a business, if you have help with it. He owns a construction company and makes great money in addition to fire fighting.
