| Starting to plan my wedding I'm soo excited! I don't know if you guys remember, I got engaged last may but am not going to get married until after school, I should be done at the end of this year, so I'm planning on a date in may/june of 2009. My parents and I started talking about the budget, and I think they are going to be paying for more than I thought they were. My mom also told me I bursted my dad's bubble because he was about to buy a snow mobile but she told him no because they have to put all extra money aside now (I told her to tell him he is more than welcome to purchase one, but he has to give it to me ) and my fiance and I are starting to check out different locations. I can't wait for this day to come. Anyone have any advice on finding a location, what are some things that can come up and what I should look out for, what questions I should ask? Any advice would be great since this day MUST be perfect!!! Also, we may already have someone to marry us! I'm catholic, my fiance is baptised catholic but now follows baptist, and his friend is becoming a baptist pastor and volunteered to marry us! I know he's not catholic, but I think it would be really nice to have a friend marry us.

| Congratulations to you. Enjoy this time and try very hard not to get tooooooooo stressed out. This should be a very special time in you life and a time to remember with good thoughts. Get yourself a bride orgainzer book. I think Barnes and Noble carry them. Both my daughter's and daughter in law could not have done it without having this book. It has everything you need to remember in it with little pockets for receipts and log sheets for quotes, prices etc. It's just great to have. Good luck to you and your furture husband. |

| Thanks everyone! I'll definitly check out all of those links, and tomarrow is payday so I'll go get that book from B&N. I was going to get a binder and have different sections in it, but a book that's already made sounds a lot easier!!!

| I would say get that book first off. You will not regret it if you use it. Another thing is to get a wedding planner that see's your day the way you want to see it. It is well worth the money to get the wedding planner. They know so much, can find things much cheaper then you can or maybe even have some of the stuff themselves that they throw in. Good luck and I hope that you have a ton of fun planning your day.

| I know my fiance wants a wedding planner (he said that while we were planning my parents anniversary party) but I have no idea howmuch they cost. I've always heard their expensive, does anyone have any idea howmuch they cost though? Do you guys suggest an actual wedding planner, or even just a friend/family member to take care of everything for me?

Congratulations! How EXCITING! I LOVE weddings and actually wanted to become a planner, but it just didn't work out at the time..... I totally agree...get one of those wedding planning notebooks; I got married 9 yrs ago and I STILL use mine! It's great for addresses and Christmas cards etc....but it was a LIFESAVER and is a fantastic Memento to remind me of all that we went thru and planned. It was the GREATEST time of my LIFE! Mine is called "Planning a Wedding to Remember" by Beverly Clark and it was like my bible that I took EVERYWHERE to mark down prices and the places I saw things at, the pockets you can put your caterer's menus in or fabric swatches (which is great when you're trying to match shoes to gowns etc) and has all the info on everyone involved with their phone #'s and any details you need! A book you might like to check out at the library (unless you want to buy one) is Colin Cowie Weddings. But the planner has a lot of good advice about choosing just about everything and things to keep in mind. All the best! Take lots of pictures b/c there will be so many things that just pop up while you're putting your wedding together and it's fun to have photos to look back on the little things that might be forgotten!

| Congrats! It is hard work to plan a wedding. I would adv to look at as many websites and magazines you can. If you see anything you think looks good, mark it or copy it. Then sort through them and put in order the things as "Can not live without, looks good, maybe.. etc"
