| I made one the other day, you take (well, I cut this recipe in half), 6 chicken breasts, throw them in the crock pot, mix together 2 12 oz jars of apricot preserves and 1 package of the lipton onion soup mix and put over the chicken..cook on low for at least 6 hours..then serve over rice..But, I do have a recipe for taco quiche that is really good and fast..if you want it, pm me as I don't read this section very often |

| I started a thread like this a little while back and got some great recipes. There is another thread with more recipes linked in my first post http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=110810 These are the ones I have tried so far: 1) Roast Baby Carrots Cut up Potatoes Onion Soup Mix on top Splash of Water Cook on Low all day Made this last night...yummy...just make sure you keep everything covered in the juices 2) Sausage links Green Bell Pepper sliced Red Bell Pepper Sliced Onion Sliced Can of Diced Tomatos Cook on Low all day The flavor of this is SOOO good! 3) Sweet & Sour Pork recipe http://www.recipezaar.com/29544 I served this over rice - DELICIOUS! 4) Zesty Chicken 1/2c tomato juice 1/2c soy sauce 1/2c sugar 1/2c oil 3 cloves garlic; minced 3 large chicken breasts Mix juice, soy sauce, sugar, oil and garlic. Dip chicken in mixture. Place chicken in a slow cooker; add remaining sauce. cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. I sliced the chicken up and served it over rice with steamed veggies...poured sauce over. Very very good I've really been trying to use my crockpot more...I can't wait to try more of the recipes I got from everyone

| I take 2 lbs of Chicken breast and put it into the crock pot and cover it w/a large bottle of barbecue sauce, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, onions, some garlic powder or fresh garlic if you prefer and a little bit of salt/pepper. Cook it on low for 8 hours. It is so good and comes out so soft!

| I make chili in my crockpot. I couldnt give you a recipe for it bc I just throw whatever I feel like into MY chili LOL (some people dont like that) but any basic chili recipe can be made in a crockpot and left to cook for 8 hours on low.

| LOL I just ordered a 3 year subscription to "cooking for 2".. I am like you I get tired of the same things over and over..But, the taco quiche is really good..even though it's not in a crockpot..will write it here incase anyone wants to try it.. In a large pan cook together 1 lb hamburger, 1/4 cup onion (diced), 1/4 cup green pepper(diced) and 1 package taco seasoning..when meat is no longer pink, sread in to an ungreased pie plate..add 1 cup shredded cheese. then in another bowl mix 2 eggs with 1 cup bisquick and 1/2 cup milk..pour over the cheese and bake at 400 for 20-25 min. until knife inserted near middle comes out clean..this would also be good with mushrooms in it... |
