| Are you thinking of a residential and commercial property appraisal license? Or some other type of appraising? If so, I don't have my appraisal license, but I work for a property tax law firm and we fight commercial and residential assessments. I took several classes on the income approach to value and overall valuation of property. I'm an analyst so I do appraise properties but not for mortgage purposes but rather to fight the assessments place on the properties by the assessing jurisdictions. If we do need full appraisals, we generally hire out to get fee simple appraisals. Either way, I took my classess from the IAAO. They have training and I think licensing if you were interested in going into appraisals for assessment and taxation purposes. But I definitely like what I do, but it does require math and analytical skills.
